Playstation 4 VS Xbox One

Sure. But what usually happens is that you take the die and then blow fuses to disable / enable various optional features or turn off failed sections. So you could (again, I don't know what Intel are doing, but this is the way other people do it) fab a wafer containing identical parts, but then some of which end up being configured as i7s and others being configured as i5s.
In theory, you can but we're talking on a nanometer scale. It very well may happen this way. I haven't paid attention to processor designs in the last few years. I just don't see this being very practical.

I've been meaning to add this for a few days...

In memoriam... the Original X-box...

They don't directly poke things down at the nanometer level, there's an external interface on the chip for blowing fuses during the testing process.

I rarely come over to the off topic what a pleasant surprise
when I do go buy a next gen system it will be PS4 it has the controller I like I've played with friend on XBOX for hours many times I no like.
I plan on playing GTAV for a couple of years first.& tonight I just finished The Last of us awesome game!!

With that reasoning I'd be getting a wii U and the xbone! You want me to go broke?!

:ninja:

I can't really blame the guy....I've always been a Nintendo guy but it seems like ever since they were "forced" to use optical media technology it was just too much of a brain fart to handle.

So I was kind of forced to choose another console as they (for a large portion of wii) won't publish or develop the very best.

The time is rapidly approaching for console release...anyone pulling the trigger?

I'm still going to wait on buying either. I generally don't buy on the first release and wait for bugs and problems to get worked out before purchasing. Even alot of the new games are still being made in only 720P so there is not a huge rush for me to get one yet, but I might by Titanfall in the spring.

Sony clearly has the graphics edge so far IMO.

If I get either it'll be the PS4. Xbox lost be as a customer with all the stuff that was going on this summer.

That said, I highly doubt I'll be buying any console in the future (unless the next Nintendo looks particularly awesome). I just find computer gaming superior in every way.

The Xbox One left a bad taste in my mouth. The fact that they went back and changed everything people hated about it really only irritates me more, because it just reinforces how dumb of an idea it was in the first place.

There are several games coming out for the PS4 that make me want to get one.

Although I've been using my PC as my primary gaming machine for a while now, so I'm in less of a hurry to get a new console.

The fact that they changed everything about it shows the dedication they have in making their customers happy. I'm going Xbox One all the way

They do appear to have a superior OS and platform, but the graphics are not on par with Sony, which is the superior GAMING machine as far as hardware goes. Remember, the life cycle of this round of consoles is going to be about 8 years...If the Xbox is behind now, how will it be down the line?
