Please explain the origin of your user name

Mine is my stage name from a blues band I played in during the 90's. We thought we should be as authentic as possible, so the band was as follows;

Cleophus Jefferson - Guitar
Chittlin' Boy Jackson - harp, vocals
Cornbread Watson - Drums
Remus Redbone - Bass

TurkeypillSLEEP is a shortened version of Acid jazz alternative turkey pill sleep kit.

It was inspired by drugs. Actually some friends of mine thought of the whole shebang after hallucinating while listening to acid jazz. Whilst on their journey an infomercial came on the television selling a sleep aid that was based off of post turkey tryptophan food comas. Hence alternative turkey pill sleep kit. I found great humor in this tale and although times have changed for us, we still chuckle about AJATPSK.

I shortened it to turkeypillsleep and now use that for the majority of my online dealings.

It is also a reference to the band SLEEP.

I had played drums for 15 years at which point I became burned out on the music business and washed my hands of the whole thing. About 6 years later I started to get the yearing to want to play again, only I wanted to try a different instrument. I always really liked the bass and being a drummer I felt I had a good background for it. I bought my first bass in late '08 and signed up for a TB account not too long thereafter.

My user name came about because I was now playing bass "in place" of the drums. It was just the first thing that popped into my head that wasn't already taken, so I went with it. I didn't really get serious about bass though for about another two years. But once I finally did get into it I loved it. I've been rockin' it ever since! :D :bassist:

Nickname given to me by a crazy Tamil record producer during a session at about 3 am. It's similar to, but not quite, my last name, and he started calling me "Kesslari" and invented, on the spur of the moment, an entire fictitious tribal family history - we were musicians who smuggled hashish and young girls across the Caucusus mountains.

It stuck.

I'm an proud Metal head, and my late friend Harry (R.I.P.), who I worked with for a few years, would occasionally put an upside down cross & 666 next to my name on my work reports. He was the coolest guy, and a great guitarist, who I really loved playing with. He once told me that I was one of the few people he knew that never went with what was popular, that I stuck with what I liked & if anybody didn't like it, tough **** to them!

I've always had a love for anything science-y so I went with a quantum mechanics theme.

h bar is the reduced Planck's constant. It's one of the most significant fundamental numbers in the universe.

Shrodinger's cat is a thought experiment designed to illustrate how the uncertainty principle operates.

I use the screen name Silverb0lte in my online gaming circles, which I was into long before any of this; lots of times teammates and friends would just call me Silver... (additionally, electronics is my most serious hobby and I use a special kind of silver-bearing solder for EVERYTHING and refuse to use anything else) and blues was the first genre of music I really got passionate about (odd now because this was when I was quite young, though I still enjoy the blues a lot I am a devout prog-metalhead), hence Silver Blues. It's also kind of unintentionally eccentric, which is kinda neat. :p

I once had a dream I was walking along the beach with Eris, Goddess of Chaos and Discord. And as I looked behind us, I could see footprints tracing all of the events of my life. And I noticed that during all the times when everything was cool, there were two sets of footprints, but when Grayface was laying his Heaviest Bummers on me, there was only one set of footprints. "Goddess," I cried, "why, during my times of greatest need, would you abandon me?" "I never left you", she said, "it was during your times of greatest troubles that we both hopped on one foot".

Then she told me that she needed a bass player. She really wanted Death, but he had already signed on with Wyld Stallions, and I guess Pestilence was in some Norwegian black metal band. She didn't even want to audition Famine, because she heard fat guys made better bass players. And that's how I got the gig.
