Please explain the origin of your user name

About 10yrs ago there was a group of frat boys out to tie one on at our gig,and at set break a couple came up with shots telling me 'Man,you were f*****' groovin' up there! TO F*****' GROOVIN'! That became their salute every time they got another round for the rest of the night.."Oh,shots are here? F***** GROOVIIIIIIIN'!" The guys gave me crap about that gig forever and eventually it stuck..

I was never much into music until some friends of mine formed a band and lost their bassist. They persuaded me to take it up. I dont know how to play any other instruments so i play "strictly bass"... Plus i've only played for a year or two, so my skill level is "strictlty basic". It also refers to the hardest lesson ive learned in bass to date. Being really flashy sounds like crap without solid fundamentals, and most of the time it's uncalled for, but rock solid "strictly basic" playing is always in demand.

Hodge podge all of that together and voila. A user name that hopefully cautions people not to expect a whole lot.

My last name is Vessell, which most pronounce "VEH sol". I've always pronounced it "vuh SELL" for some reason.

In the '90s when I was really just getting into online communities, I needed an online name. At first I went with poe_is_dead. But that seemed complicated. So later I went with vcell because sounded kinda dj-ish (dumb, I know) but also kinda like my last name.

Also, everything on wiki site (About the FNORD!) is pure john dillinger propaganda

OR a bunch of idiots who still believe that the JAMS will make a comeback

in the words of the holy prophet flavor flav of PE: "Don't believe the hype!"

the truth:

'Suddenly I saw Hagbard's eyes burning into me and heard his voice: ``Your heart will remain calm. Your adrenalin gland will remain calm. Calm, all-over calm. You will not panic. you will look at the fnord and see it. You will not evade it or black it out. You will stay calm and face it. And further back, way back: my first-grade teacher writing FNORD on the blackboard, while a wheel with a spiral design turned and turned on his desk, turned and turned, and his voice droned on, IF YOU DON'T SEE THE FNORD IT CAN'T EAT YOU, DON'T SEE THE FNORD, DON'T SEE THE FNORD . . .'

f n o r d !
once you see them, well…
from there it gets even more confusing:hyper:

Common enough real names to be obnoxiously unavailable even at the dawn of the internet. Prefer a derivative for forum use, but long ago made up a partially nonsense word to use whenever that was unavailable.

Former Marine --> Devil Dog --> Hell Hound --> "Teufel Hunden".
I also like sharks. "Mako"

Combine the two into a single terrible amphibious beast... voila. Kinda silly, but served it's purpose. Has never been already in use.
