Have to admit it makes for a cool band name even though it was clearly ripped from the Sunn amp company and not sure if they have any legal agreement to use it or full blown ripped it which I am guessing the latter. I actually like their track though, reminds me a bit of some NIN.

I did that on purpose, true story.

OP is a joke, for sure. Why has this not been locked for reasons of spam yet?

We really don't need people coming in, just setting fires where they please.

As for the band name... Sunn amps were still around when these guys started out. They didn't seem to do anything about it. Probably saw it as great promotion from a couple of guys who fell in love with their gear. Now Sunn amps are pretty much linked in with the genre because of this band.

Could you explain it then?
What would that accomplish? You don't like it. An explanation is not going to make you like it.

There seems to be a lot here you don't like. Why would you want it explained? Not my cup of tea either, BTW. Guess if it needs explaining it's not for us. Don't know if I'd call it a joke or modern metal "ridiculous".
Yep. Music, like food, is actually kinda simple on a personal level. Either you like it, or you don't. You don't have to justify your dislike of a particular sound more than you have to justify your dislike of a certain food. Doesn't mean the artist or the chef is bad, but some stuff you're just not going to like.

Why is this hard for people?

This is like 100x better than sunn. But still this seems like the whole song is an intro that has been extended for too long.
No, you like it 100x more than Sunn O))), but it's not better or worse.

Btw, let's hear your band. I want to hear how many times "better" than Sunn O))) they are. ;)

I voted "no," and I don't care for doomdronestonermetalwhatever at all. But it's a big ol' world and others are welcome to. Hanging out here has helped me realize that people who don't share my taste in music can actually be OK.
Exactly. I don't like all music I hear, but that doesn't mean I think it's a joke, or that it's not music. Hell, I don't like the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Doesn't mean they're bad. Just that I don't like them.

It is a bad thing..... there is zero depth to the music.....
According to you. To me, there is much more depth than in most music I hear. Because music is subjective. There are vocals, btw. Also, vocals and drums aren't necessary for music to have "depth."

Pretty bad music.

Clearly a trademark violation ... except Sunn no longer is a company so does anyone own and enforce that trademark.

...
"Bad" is subjective. I've heard your band, and while you guys are good, if I were paying money, I'd much rather go see Sunn O))).

As for the name, they've existed since the early 90s. If no one has tried to "enforce" that trademark by now, it's unlikely that anyone's going to.

Have to admit it makes for a cool band name even though it was clearly ripped from the Sunn amp company and not sure if they have any legal agreement to use it or full blown ripped it which I am guessing the latter. I actually like their track though, reminds me a bit of some NIN.
Eh, the full story is that they're huge fans of the band Earth, who notably played very loud and used Sunn amps. They decided using that name would be a reference both to the amp worship prevalent in doom/drone, and to the band that inspired them.

I don't need it explained, I have no problem with anyone liking it or listening to it, I just wish people would stop calling it 'music.'
Why?

Why does it bother you that people listen to music you don't like? I hate the Brandenburg Concertos, but I don't mind people listening to them, or calling them music.
