I'm still waiting on my custom bypass looper to be completed. It will go on the bottom right of the board.

Nice board! how are you liking the fullbore metal?

OKAY. this is what i'm super happy with. the OK will be replaced with the Oxide when it arrives, and there's nothing i have gas for to go on my main board (yeah right) right now. plus, i need to be putting money into the bass i have on order.

chain sorta follows how it looks....

PPB -> Aggy Octo -> MXR BEF -> Cata Helio -> DE OK -> EHX Freeze -> M9 -> VTD

audio cables are all done. i had enough built/laying around that i only had to build 2. finishing up the pretty PRETTY power wiring underneath.

i had to move the M9 to the bottom row because a) my case wouldn't close (there's 2 slats of wood on the top row as a riser) and b) at practice yesterday my clumsy a$$ knocked some settings wacky on pedals under it.

woot!

happy like clam bake. baking clams like happy Neil Gaiman extras. loving technology like a tragically funny castoff Neal Stephenson character.

i dunno if i'm angrier at Terry Goodkind for showing he's a crap writer after he passed the Wheel of Time series and had to come up with his own ideas or at George "Big Daddy" R. R. Martin for giving up on completing the Fire and Ice saga.

.... at least Lightnig Bolt is still releasing albums.

moof! and now a butt-shot!!!

i'm so spacing on who else had the pretty lil tidy underverse on theirs. thank you for making me revisit the cable tie holdy things tho! i remember now that i was trying to hold power supplies and silly sh!t like that before when they weren't working for me. this.... um... works MUCH better.

kinda mad the M9 can't be run of the PP2 though. meh.... it seems to be in there pretty good. i found a tube of Velcro Glue i forgot about. there's Velcro glued onto the underboard and onto the PS. find out eventually if that's enough.

gnAr!

awesome board man. seriously.

and he hasn't quit! he'll just die before dance with dragons comes out...

ya know... thqt's one of the smartest things i've heard out of a pedal geek. it's SO easy to forget that THAT'S what you should probably be going for.

..... and that's a pretty board.

Thank you for recognizing the simplistic truth.

I read a lot on the FX forum and so many times one person will ask about a pedal and 20 people will chime in with (nah, that sucks get a blah-blah, make sure it's analog, blah, true-bypass, etc.)

If it sounds good to YOU and you like it, then that's all that matters.

I'm all for making recommedations, but people start saying "this sucks, that sucks, get a ______ (fill in pedal) then it just becomes another "name your favorite pedal thread"

Do you find it hard stomping on the VT Deluxe without accidentally hitting the M9?

+1. its so hard to get anything done when that happens.

Quick question, why the PPB before the Octamizer as opposed to the other way. Do you find yourself running the PPB into the Octamizer often? I miss my Heliotrope, though I can't imagine that I'd actually use it. :D

there IS a riser, and it's still a little delicate to get to the VTD. but i use the different settings either for different basses, or different songs. so i switch when it's not very hectic.

but yeah, i'm thinking about putting a little wooden wedge underneath the VTD so that it sits flat.

lol... that's funny you should ask. i've always liked fuzz then octo. but i'm having a weird problem i never had before right now.

there's a more detailed thread where i'm asking for help/advice at http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=680293

but if i have a fuzz on before the octo, and turn on the octo there's a HUGE volume jump. i tried putting a Swollen Pickle in front of the Aggy Octo and tried swapping the Aggy for the MXR BOD. same problem.

any thoughts?

Why not simply swap the two around...move the VT down to where the M9 is and vise versa? From here, it looks like it'd be easier to hit both of them that way*, but I could be wrong.

* edit, moments later, and after realizing that that doesn't sound right - I meant 'hitting each one individually easier'...or something...

Mudd With 2 D's - yeah.... the M9 doesn't fit on the top row. the case doesn't close then. i was TRYING to put them both up top. much more aesthetically pleasing. 'cause.... that sh*t MATTERS.

Tiny Horse Rider - yeah...... i LOVE the Heliotrope. it's like a better-for-bass Legend of Bit Fuzz. with more options. i use it mostly as a ring moddy video game noise when tapping.

MattQbert - thanks man!

LowEnd / Fisherino - yahp. if i thought it was the best option i would run Behringer.

that's a f**king lie. i don't trust Behringer to work for more than 14 minutes at a time. it's like a REALLY cheap prostitute that way.

ahh. well that should help.

I pretty much ignore 'it sucks' reviews unless it's followed by qualifiers such as 'it's noisy, the bypass is terrible, the controls are too touchy' or something specific like that. I don't like the BassDriver, but I recognize that it is a versatile pedal that lots of players like. If I just said 'it sucks' then I would essentially be saying that the thousands of players that like it also suck. IMO.
