lol... hey meng... i posted a pic of my (stupid me) version that i'm gonna have to tear down and rebuild.

i am like, On Topic GUY. asking questions about people's boards, ogling the pretty Green on Black Supah Dupah Colliders.... man. i wish my Iron Ether Oxide was here now.

i've totally decided to ditch the Devi Ever OK pedal. it's not doing it for me. and i DON'T wanna put a blend on just to fix that.

think'n about asking around the pedal mod guys to see how much putting a blend into the OK would run.

..... might be sorta awesome.

So I was bored and decided to post a night shot of the board as well. I took this using a 30 second long exposure shot with my camera. (so I could capture all of the LEDs firing at once)

I decided to scale back to a smaller board after doing a couple of awkward shows on cramped stages, and ended up going from this:

M9 only turned up this morning but what a bundle of fun it is. Tonnes of possibilities, but I won't discover any of them until I get bored of doing metal guitar solos on my bass, which won't happen for at least another week. :bassist:

So far? Yeah, but I like nearly every pedal the day it arrives.

The comps are nice, delays excellent, pitch shifting is also surprisingly excellent. I love the way tap tempo and expression control works potentially across multiple FX at once and multiple params in each effect in some cases.

Biggest downer so far is the lack of a sensitivity control for the envelope-following effects (they are all way too sensitive).

It's a cool unit though, and very intuitive. I sat down with it and the manual, started messing with the controls and forgot about the manual until I wanted to find out about how "scenes" worked. That and the setup options are the only things I looked in the book to find out more about, everything else just makes sense.

Bugcrusher​

The O.S. is in a bypass loop so I don't have to use one of its footswitches for bypass: I've got one set to NXT, the other either gets used for momentary modulation or tap tempo, depending on the patch I'm using.

In a few weeks I'll be replacing the LS-2 with a custom loop switch that Max at SFX is building for me. It will be a 2-channel mixer with 2 return volume controls like the LS-2, but it will have two stomp switches so I can switch either loop on or off independently, and also do stuff like going from 2 blended loops to one soloed loop, which is the one thing I've always been annoyed I can't do on the LS-2.

I was planning to use the M9 only for chorus, tremolo, verb and delay just to add some colour to my base synth sounds, and hopefully use it as a final filter for manual sweeps (used to be the job of my old Meatwad) but actually having used the other stuff on it I think I'll be using the pitch shifter too, and the dyna comp model could get used on some of our stuff, and maybe even the overdrives. It's got lots of possibilities.

I might move the M9 into Loop B at some point I don't know. I also haven't tried the Bugcrusher before the M9 yet, but generally the fun with the Bugcrusher is to give it different stuff to eat and see what it poops out, so it is probably always best at the end of a chain.

For the gig tonight. I'll have a couple minutes during sound check to figure out how to set the Oxide Fuzz, but I'm looking for a pretty specific gated sound, so I think I can do it.

Wow great board!

Particularly interested in hearing your impression of the oxide compared to the TAFM. The oxide looks so versatile that I think it could totally replace my TAFM.

I could be wrong on this, but isn't TAFM capable of some decent overdrive type sounds as well as fuzz? I get the impression that the Oxide can't do OD so much. Of course the Oxide might still replace the TAFM for your purposes.

lol... i could care less. it's such a stupid combination of like three or four DUMB old in jokes. just got really used to it.

fphlh. i don't WANNA go out today. bleh. i didn't measure right (i do this all the time) and my case won't close with the M9 on top. i kinda liked it better on the bottom (giggety) anyways.

wanna stay home and rewire board. so much..... more fun.....

i'm a freaking teetotaler. why would i enjoy going to the damn WINE Country? why? because my wife says i'll enjoy it. that's why.

my diy effect is finished, i just need to drill the enclosure then i'll have a new edition to my pedalboard! Which...the velcro won't stick to. Anybody know to make velcro stick to wood?

It sticks to itself more than the glue holds it down...

I obviously haven't played the Oxide yet, but they are verydifferent fuzzes. In theory the Oxide specializes in more synthy type fuzzes and te TAMF is more of a traditional type fuzz tone (though not exactly a muff or anything). So, I don't think I'm going to find too much common ground between them.
