It looks a bit familiar! ;)

Questions:
1. How do you like that Korg Tuner? I'm eventually going to get one.
2. Why do you have 2 wahs?
3. What do you use both distortions for? I want to get a RAT, so my board would have a RAT and a Guv'nor.
4. Why do you have 3 Filters/Autowahs?
5. Is that Ibanez ANOTHER autowah?!

And one more thing, upload your photos on Photobucket or something like that so we dont' have to drag it. :D

Korg Tuner is brilliant. I ****ing love it. Really accurate.

I only just got my 105Q today in the post, and so I haven't sold the Morley yet.
3. What do you use both distortions for? I want to get a RAT, so my board would have a RAT and a Guv'nor.

I currently use the Guv'Nor for Big loud Overdrive, and the ODB-3 for a light touch of drive to my clean signal, though they may swap roles after a little bit of fiddling I did today.

The DOD I got today, with the 105Q. The Boss AW-2 I use as an automatic wah rather than an envelope filter, and the Q-Tron I may be getting rid of, but I use it with the ODB-3 for some wackyish sounds.

The Ibanez does have an Auto-Wah setting on it, but its a Synth pedal, and I use the Synth mode all the time, never the auto wah considering I have the other pedals to do that.

They actually have quite different tone! Obviously, it's the same idea, but the USA is cleaner, and a l'il bit deeper. The Russian is a l'il less robust. I love both sounds, so I kept them... I also run them at different levels, depending what I am looking for. I use the distortion on the Russian.

It's pretty cool to run both at once! almost like a sythn voice tone... think of a deep synth voice saying "d'oh" :hyper:

it doesnt surprise me that they have a different tone.. seems to be the way things go with ehx. even two of the same russain bassballs sounding different wouldnt surprise me. i own the russian version and i quite like it. having two would be kinda handy, one for a kinda funky sound and one with distortion and higher sensitivity.

i cant imagine running two together. one is wild enough!

The consistency might be my only complaint about EHX... next to tpylons, I might be the biggest EHX nut here *L* (geee.. just look at my board...) Eventually, I want to build a synth pedal board with a microsynth, Flanger of somekind (maybe the DE Mistress, but that thing is ginnormously huge), and maybe a POG and Tube Zipper. Maybe throw in a Ring Modulator of some kind...

Well I run the USA at 12 o'clock, Distortion off. The Russian at 9, distortion on...

They almost cancel each other out, in terms of the sweep portion of the effect.. It's def. there... but not nearly as sensetive as running each one independently.. It's a neat effect.. if I can ever get to it, I'll need to record some clips.

that would be cool. for what its worth, i run my russian at 2 o'clock, distortion on. i like that the unit is so responsive to picking dynamics. it almost sounds like a toy piano or something at times.

my only complaint about ehx is, you guessed it, the size. do they really need to be as big as they are? might be time for a rethink on that one down at ehx hq. having said that, they still sell well, so maybe their attitude is "why fix it if it aint broke?".

Hmm... after seeing all these pedal boards, I'm having second thoughts on selling all my effects to get a Muff and an EBS BassIQ. I don't use anything but distortion and envelope, but man... it's the thought that counts.

Yeah... especially the SS stuff.. I've opened up both my Russians so I could take off the rubber feet and still have it grounded properly.. The PCB inside isn't all that big.. but that is the same size case they've used since the 60's. A friend of mine has a vitnage Small stone (that army green one) and it's the same size, but inside, the CB is almost the full case. Their pedals are distinctive, and having a large case with nice large knobs does make it easy to adjust on the fly. I often times mike minute adjsutments to my BB's anad the Muff with my toe. Can't do that on a Digi-BOSS case..

The Tube stuff fills the entire case, so that's not so bad..

Keep the pedals you use. Sell the pedals you don't.

Bassman, I'm still curious- Hows that hot tubes workin for you?

I was thinking about picking one up...but never tried it. From what I understand it's a pretty subtle warm OD effect right? Can it get gritty and dirty too?

It can get pretty gritty. I run it pretty low, as I just want some crunch in the signal. It's nice and warm and fairly smooth. I did a review on it when I first got it a few months ago.

The only downsides is you can't adjust things on the fly. You find your sound, and that's the one you gotta stick with, at least live.
