I wish I could move the monitors further away from the walls, but other than that I really enjoy my little corner of the world
Hi guys,
I am looking to set something up to mainly play along with YouTube etc. I don’t want to use an amp and had been using a pair of Vox amPhones but they have packed in.
Would a preamp work best?

I actually use my audio interface for this situation. I dial back the mix knob so that I get a blend of my bass from the input and the audio from the computer.
You could also go straight into a DAW, turn on input monitoring and then balance the levels between the DAW and YouTube.
Another option is something like the PJB Big Head HA-1 headphone amp. It has separate inputs for your bass and an aux source. It’s also a dedicated bass preamp so will give you some control over your sound.

The current June 2022 studio... Still installing a few more pieces of hardware this week. But all in all a clean bright space for sessions and videos. Fully balanced, noise free. I was able to treat the windows behind the blinds but still make the room seem like it had them.
