Precision is a Chevy, Jazz is a Ferrari

There can be no denying the historical significance of both the Precision and the Jazz and their impact on music of many genres. But I think that the Sting Ray and the G&L L-2000 are major steps forward in the evolution of Leo’s designs. If you haven’t tried one on stage with a band, you don’t know what you’re missing

Ahem. This is a flame war 'tween precision and Jazz.
Thanks. :D

I do not know who you guys are any more. What happened to all the Gurus, the low end Geniuses the Wisdom keepers here ?
Why are you trying to compare Leo’s basses to cars?
Basses give us gas, right? The Dynamic Duo Basses are made to move our hearts and Souls not just our Land down under. The only true comparison that is the truth is;
The P bass is a Canaan over seas and a German Shepherd in the U.S.
A Jazz bass is Red over seas and a Blue Heeler in the U .S
You can thank me later for bringing the truth to this enduring misunderstanding.
Your welcome.

Where have you gone, Joe Domaggio?
The TB nation turns its eyes to Cariboo.

Just a little joke. Sorry.

Hard to believe anyone took this thread seriously. ...

Leo was an inventor and a businessman, hard to imagine this today. ... So to expand business he invented product, first Fender Tele and P-bass, then Strat and Jazz, the staples. ... Then he sold and invented Musicman, then GL. ... How amazingly rare that is today. ... He could've easily walked away, in the mid sixties, with a million dollars and spent his days in the sun but, he went back to work. ...
The Strat is to a Tele what the Jazz is to a P-bass. ... Logical progression.

I've often said that the P Bass is the equivalent of the Small Block Chevy engine..... It's virtually unchanged since it's introduction, its the standard to which many are compared to, it fits everywhere and there's more aftermarket hop up parts available for it than any other.
