I have an old Balans chair clone that has somehow survived multiple long-distance moves since the 80's...
+1 for Roc-N-Soc, and the addon back rest is very useful.
I've actually never thought about that one. In my music space at home, I have e-drums on the right hand wall, so I do have a drum throne there, which I turn 180° to face the bass stuff. Drum chairs are the right height, they do not restrict arm movement and they allow for sitting for longer periods of time.
In the band practice rooms I use (or used), old drum chairs always accumulate for some reason.
So I usually just sit on a discarded drum chair whenever I want to play seated.
This worked so well that I never questioned the practice.
I was asked to bring a means of being seated to a gig only once, when I played with an acoustic trio that did unplugged sounds and everyone played sitting down.

When I ordered a digital piano for my girls, the bench ce in cracked. Sweetwater immediately sent me another amd told me to keep the cracked one. So it's in tue jam room. Black with a pad on top. Super comfy. Seat flips up to store stuff. Sits against the wall and takes up very little space. Love it.

I use anything without arms. I have a drum throne, metal lab stool, office chair with arms left off at assembly time, even a $25 folding keyboard bench that stays in my RV.
I still use a strap when sitting, so my leg angle doesn't control the location of the bass. I occasionally find a foot rest can increase comfort with certain chairs. Like this:

I have one of those. I bought one when I injured my hip. I dragged it with my amp on a cart for a couple years to multiple shows. The best thing about it is that you can semi-stand. So it doesn't look like you're sitting, but you get all the benefits of the support. It's quite heavy, though.

i think that's a pretty standard option for EB players. and i've found it to be a great idea, too: find the right throne and take it with you when you need to have it on the gig.
