Wal mart special... I've preferred this to my $100+ "guitar stool". I paid under 10 bucks, now they're a touch over 15. They fold and save space in the music room.

yeah +5,000 on the back rest. Maybe I'm old (52) but if I'm sitting for a couple hours there's no other option.

I've got a comfortable computer/office work chair with no arms in my studio/practice space. Works great. Adjustable height and back. I think it's important to have a back rest if you're going to spend any time in the chair ... which I end up doing when learning new material or doing tracks.

I almost always gig standing up, or if I do sit (rare) I just use a stool from the venue

I have a stand up desk with an appropriately tall, padded, swivel drafting-type chair that I use. When I had a regular desk, I used a regular office chair. Nothing fancy or music-specific. I always stand at gigs.

Hercules makes a nice piano bench I’ve been using. Roc n Soc drum thrown is nice too, I got the one that goes a little extra height. But it’s somewhat annoying when you stand up and it spins so easy then you have to spin it back to the correct position. Backrest would help.

I have one of those. It's a butt killer!
That's why I got the barstool.
I still have the one you listed as well as it is the perfect height for my table where I work on my guitars.
