This spring I will attempt to make it, just for the look of it, and just for myself, I'll live if it neck-dives, its to be expected from all the SG derivative shapes.

Just curious, how low or high do you prefer to wear your bass?

I think you're scale is going to be off. The way you have it now, it would be a short scale, may be 31"/30", the B string would be floppy.

Looking again at this thing. If you make the body bigger, it would look more proportionate and handle better.

The bridge is located where a guitar bridge would be as opposed to where a bass bridge would be (think Gibson SG guitar vs, Gibson EB-3). In order to have a long scale instrument with the bridge plotted there, a twenty four fret neck and headstock large enough to accommodate five a side tuners, it'd have to be fifty two inches long +/-. A Jazz Bass is 46".
Just looked at your original post and saw you added information confirming the estimated length. A 52" bass is a monster instrument, but not in comparison to a DB. If you want something different, you found it! Good job.

Yes, I thought that the extra wood behind the bridge was giving it the illusion of a short scale. You aren't the first one to say this about it being a short scale, which is why I added the extra paragraph to my original post.

It remains a cool design, though. Possibly prone to neck dive and T-40esce weight issues. Chambering the front part (neck end) of the body may help. Can't wait to see it when you're done.

Aside from the neck dive/general playability issues others have mentioned, you will likely have to move the knobs further back or else stringing it is going to be awkward at best.
