PYPB XXXIII - Effects are STOOPID

noice! yeah... on a board is MUCH bettah. always wired up = GOOD.

damn it MuddAh. that was a HORRIBLE idea. the PT-3 has that stupid compartment in the hard case. i hate that. good idea and all.... but it makes an already ungainly case too big. 'd be easier to carry around 2 PT-1 or 2's. hurm. i like the case for the PT-1 better... and i have one of each now. maybe buy a second PT-1? DAMNit. just when i doubted you, you come through muDdah buDdah!

i'm listen', i'm listen'.

WhoA! Behndy, you going multi?

lulz. we need a better word/abbreviation. i DID actually giggle out loud.

i have this... love hate thing with delays and choruses and phasers. never liked them, hate not having a tap tempo... but then i hear people like JahRed The LASH or Mmm Sterrrrling or Erukahsu just... go... ****ing NUTS with them.... so i WANT to like them.

so the M9 more than covers my minimal needs/desires in those yareas, has a tuner, does one or two wacky things i like, i LIKE the pitch shifting, and has a looper. and sounds DAMN good usually for a multi. horrible filters or distortions. i can't find a looper i like in a small MXR sized box, so tuner + pitch shifter + looper + 4 or 5 efx i'll rarely use TOTALLY justifies the space.

so.... one multi? with like 8 singlets? can i still hang with the cool kids?

nope. too big. the PT-2 case is noticeably bigger, 'cause where the PT-1 case fits the board width and height, the PT-2 case fits it width wose, but there's about 2 or 3 inches of space extra length wise. it works, that's where i throw the power cable (i use a 25 foot 'un) for the power supply and an expression pedal, but it's ALMOST on the Too Big To Haul Around size.

Ah, got it! Thanks!

re: thread title :

please check out effects forum rules, specifically #5. i made an addition that will hopefully address this issue for you guys.

http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f36/effects-forum-rules-faq-must-read-164936/

we shouldn't have had to make a rule about this - it's pretty much common sense, imo, but some folks are dense. so if you guys see any of the usual suspects wandering in and being doofy, just report em :).

just wanted to mention that. carry on :hyper:

nice! thanks Mssr. Turner! i always thought it was at least borderline trolling, thanks for spelling it out so there's no misunderstanding and a place to point people to.

is the thread title ok? don't want to break any roolz.

thanks!

you're golden. i just saw the title and it reminded me how much those folks wandering in and doing the whole "the only effect real bass players use is their hands hurr hurr hurr" b.s. aggravate me (and everyone else).

great! thanks again for adding that to the Forum Rules FAQ. VERY nice to have some place to point people. it does get old quick. and a gentle nudge of "we're IN the efx forum, please do that somewhere else" never seems to help.

you tha man.

effects are stoopid, cuz i cant afford any of them :bawl:

d'awwwww!! that makes me REALLY wish TB had a hug emoticon!

I find the M5 is a decent tuner and a great way to break into the M series multi effects. Not a ton of real estate or cost issues. I only use it for a few things (it doesn't have a looper) but those few things plus the tuner make it plenty worth it for me. Just my two cents. Sweet boards recently.@ Behndy That goatkeeper is huge! Why don't you look into having someone just custom make you something?? Large but extremely light with a nice case (hopefully that exists).

yur. i like the idea of the M5, but i wouldn't want it wothout the looper. the different scenes make a big difference to me too.

i dunno about the custom stuff. the thing i like about the Pedlaltrain boards is they are VERY sturdy and relatively light. i think someone'd be hard pressed to be able to cast metal like that in a custom design without it beig CRAZY expensive. lulz. and i don't trust myself to stay with one setup.

i kinda dig the Gorm stuff, but i want a reliable case that i can feel safe putting it with a bunch of other gear in a trailer. custom boards rokk, i just don't think they fit my situation.

kinda leaning towards two PT-1's. hurm.
