R.I.P. BOZO

A better question might be how many Bozos are left? In my home town of Baltimore, Stu Kerr played Bozo and a myriad of other characters, including locally-beloved Professor Kool. Stu passed on in 1994. Because Baltimore and DC are so close to each other, and because I moved to DC as soon as I was old enough to navigate my way out of Baltimore, many of my friends recall Willard Scott as Bozo. Willard is still alive and well, and did quite well for himself after his Bozo years were behind him. But I wonder how many Bozos are still out there? And when the last Bozo falls in the forest, will we know?

I know a full grown adult male who is a local HS baseball coach who was so traumatized by an appearance on a local Bozo show when he was a child, to this day even a picture of a clown can cause him anxiety to the point he gets hyper aggressive and threatens violence on anyone unlucky enough to think it would be funny to see him react to a picture of a clown. I pity the fool who ever thinks it would be a good idea to surprise him by jumping out of a closet with a clown mask on.

Love Puddles, he does one awesome show. And the clown has some pipes, as well as a great love of all things Kevin Costner.

Reading most of the posts on here, it is pretty clear that Bozo was an inspiration to us all.
RIP to this Bozo, whether he was the one I watched as a kid or not. When I watched in the early '70s, Bozo started getting kind of far out there--I recall a scene where he's made to look like he's waterskiing, only on city streets, while looking at the camera and lip-syncing to Three Dog Night's "One." At the time, I probably thought he was actually singing it.
Seconded/thirded! My wife and I are going to see his show tonight, this will be our third time. @Chicory Blue, check him out if you haven't. He's a great and moving singer, but some of the work he does is also hilarious.
Bozo enjoyed a triumphant moment in the cinema with his satirical feature, "The Great Dictator,"
which presented the Bozo persona as a power-hungry tyrant in the Hitler mold.
