What's the most cars you ever had at once? And where did you keep them?

I had the biggest s***-eating grin reading this thread. Thanks for letting us pick your brain.

maybe 4 ... for maybe the first decade , I'd usually have 2 cars , the wife would have 1 , and some kind of SUV/truck ... when we had a condo in Ohio and a house in Florida , ... we'd kinda rotate the cars around ... but I usually kept mine close by ... as I was a car cleaning fanatic for quite a while ... !!! I never collected a bunch , I'd drive em for a while , then trade in ...

Great thread and great adventures that where told. Sincerely feel for your wife though and hope this last set of surgeries are a welcomed help.

Not gonna lie, the biggest GAS came in the last post when i finally saw a pic of the NSX. Man what a sweet ride.

my first NSX , the dark green one , was a blast ... but way beyond my driving skills ... it was my first mid-engine sports car ... and they do feel much different at their break-away point than front engine/rear drive .... there was no sliding butt hanging out , ... all of a sudden everything would let go ... ahhhh ... the 2nd NSX-T ... they changed to 'drive-by-wire' throttle and changed the steering , which for me made it less fun ... ! wish I still had my ' car play money ' for the next NSX ... !!!

That burnt Fender looks awesome! Does it smell like fire?

I had seen it on Ebay ... it was located in Akron , OH .. my home town ... I new the owner , and the shop , Lay's , that started the repairs/salvage ... it was lightly sanded and clear coated ... no more smokey smell ... it turned out very cool ... I do miss that bass , but made a pretty penny on it ... !! I had a neck plate made for her ... " TOASTIE 74 " ...

I'm not a car guy, always look at them as a tool to get a job done... But always had a hankering for a Cadillac Escalade.
My money would be spent on travel and a condo on an island with lots of scuba diving, and a nice house on the water with a dock for my boat up here for the summers.

we've had a few Cadis ... and Suburban types ( pre Escalade years ) we would take a cruise or 2 each year , when everyone was healthy enough and we could get away ... Aruba was cool , ... liked the Panama canal cruise , and a cruise to several ports going around the boot of Italy ... had a boat for a while , but it was a money pit like our pools ... !!! salt water and boats is a pain .. !! I'd stay in fresh water for sure ... !! after many cruises I really grew to hate them ... stuck on a floating crapper full of sick people and rude morons ... !! if I want tropical with a casino i'll take the Bahamas .. ! safe and close .. !!

question ... has anyone tried to download the zip file that is back on page 1 .... I'm curious if it actually works or not ... ??!!

the Xmas CD did come out pretty good ... yeh , I know it's Spring/Summer ... but that is when I recorded most of it .. ! ha

thanks ... !! Dave C.

I'd give her the money if she checked out legit. I would be such a sucker for stuff like that. But then where would it end if I did it for her? All you need is for her to tell the wrong person and next thing you know everyone with their sick babies is hitting you up. And you want to help them all but you can't. That's the big downside to being rich from Lotto, I'd say. Wanting to help but knowing the money won't be coming in forever so you have to turn some truly needy people down.

Good reality check.

I would cancel anything I had Planned that day and help them get help. There are organizations to help family's with children with medical bills. I had several hundred thousand dollars worth of surgery before i even got out of elementary school. Crippled children's fund paid for most of it. Having money or not having money aside I would do the same thing.

my older brother got about a half million in an insurance payout and blew it all insanely fast , his ex wife made out with a nice house but he's in jail for armed robbery and no longer owns anything and doesn't have a dime to his name, turned out he spent about half of it on drugs And when the money ran out he resorted to crime to continue feeding his addiction. Never gave me anything, now he calls me for money. Only thing he did for anyone in the family is pay a couple grand for some work on my moms house. Which he demanded he get paid back for after he snorted his money away.

The entire situation made me hate money. I work as a surgical technologists and love my job, love that I get to help people. But I don't make a ton of money. What money I do make goes towards my family. I keep $80 a month for my gear fund. Thats enough to keep my happy. My parents made really good money at one point. My mom was a general manager at a local TV station but they sold it off and she lost her job. I know most people would think I'm crazy but I doubt I'd go that crazy if I won the lottery. Id be happy to be able to send my kids to the best schools and take them on more extravagant vacations. But I'd put most of it in savings and safer investments for my kids and future grandkids to have when I'm gone. I bought a $5000 warwick when I was 24 in community college and delivering pizza. You don't have to win the lottery to buy gear.

I started saving/buying gear at around age 14 ... and had gathered lots of stuff from 14-36 (pre- lotto ) ... thankful my folks started spending money on gear ( pianos , trumpets ) and lessons from age 6 - college ... I have always valued my gear ...
much more so than cars/trips ... music is what I've always done , with or without extra money ... still play/practice/write/record almost daily ... it has been fun buying items a little faster than I had in the past , ... or upgrading to that new keyboard every couple years ... but it's all in hopes of making slightly better music ... I never bought music gear to show off , I bought/buy/and will continue buy gear to Play ... ! now I save up for stuff or go buy things when they have sales with 0% interest ... !!! there is nothing smarter than using someone else's money .. !!

and Yes ... it was fun buying stuff for people ... bought the folks and in-laws new cars .... paid for some schooling for a few relatives ... helped out some friends clear up some bills ... bought a house for my elderly current in-laws to live in rent free ( in there 90's .. ! WWII vet ) ... me having more money enabled my mom to do more for our church ... friends and family ...

I do still like to buy gear ... picked up a new Maxon Bass Drive this week ... ( it was on sale , and I had a coupon .. !! ) and just ordered a Digitech Trio ... looked like a fun teaching/jamming gadget ... ( again , on sale w/Ebay coupon ) .... been looking for a tiny bass amp , not sure why as I don't need one .. !? maybe used .? looking at a TC BG250 w/2x8 , since it has an ext spkr jack .. ! most little amps do not ... and I always look for multi purpose stuff , .. for keys , bass , gtr .... and always open to suggestions ... ! thnx Dave C.

I won $2 last week ... yahoo ...

I do still play the basic Lotto ( pick 6 ) here in Florida ... 2x a week ... I do pick my own numbers ... the computer picks really stupid numbers down here ..!!!??!!

my winning ticket had 2 lines that I picked , and 1 auto-lotto line ... the auto-lotto line is the one that won ...!! the following wee I would have got 5 out of 6 using my regular numbers , but with all the excitement , I forgot to play ...!!!

definitely can't win if you don't play ... !!

a little more to the story ...

in 1993 , our guitarists brother won the lotto ... he was living in his car at that time ..!! strange things do happen ...

the worst side fx of winning ... my mom/dad where both retiring in 94 ... my mom worked for the railroad ,... they actually tried to screw her out of her retirement ...!! jackholes ..!

even after giving the X half of my winnings , and agreeing to pay $1,000 a month in child support ... she still did everything she could to turn my son against me ... still trying to undo that damage ...!!

one of the worst - the X took my dog to the freakin pound ...!! couldn't find her ( a young beautiful Blue Merle Aussie ) ... and of course the X took the other dog she supposedly bought for me ( that I paid for - a large Rottie ) ...

I don't like to hang on to anger ... but some things are just kind hard to completely let go .... " money can't buy you love "
