Oh, well of course, we must believe the televised media's side of every story. What ulterior motive could they possibly have for lying to us? Nonsense, of course! Product placement is a myth created by paranoid hermits too. Haha

Except that the movie and TV companies readily admit to product placement. And BTW, the moon launch was televised, not just on radio. The 1960's may not have had iPhones, but television was commonplace.

But I find it hilarious that you conspiracy guys always complain about what the media does to make money, meanwhile you get your info from shows and websites wanting to sell you survival food, beds where you hit a button and out pops a gun, and books and videos on all their theories "proving" that they're true, even though they're all full of disclaimers saying that they haven't really proved anything. I believe in an open mind, but not so open I allow people to dump any old crap into it.

Lol I've never heard of those things sold to conspiracy guys. I've certainly never paid for anything as a result of questioning say, reasons for countries to bomb each other or whether or not there is such a thing as space. I don't think of myself as a conspiracy guy anyway - my mind was fairly well blown when I watched a video from a naval guy talking about how their positioning instruments couldn't work if the sea 'curved' with the earth's 'curve'. I wasn't convinced but it did make me question things further. I revisited the question I asked at five years old - if we (in Australia) are on the bottom, how come we don't fall off? It seemed to me, even back then, that this idea of 'gravity' was awfully selective about its properties. I could jump through it into the air but it held the entire ocean down? That's not a conspiracy theory, it's just common sense. We are taught it too young to care to question it. YMMV

While I've got ya Jimmy, I've got my first pro audition in a couple of weeks for a 20 date tour (groove based pop 5-piece) in December. No idea what to expect - obviously I won't mention the shape of the earth as it ruffles feathers lol - any advice?

BTW, when you jump through the air, you are not defeating the laws of gravity. You are merely exerting enough counter-energy to lift yourself up into the air for a brief moment before you come crashing back to earth. Notice that you don't stay in the air for an extended period of time. If there was no gravity, you would float off into space when you jump.

Those mass execution videos aren't posted by mainstream media, nor are they even shown by mainstream media. Believe it or not, there's an entire world out there where things happen, countries fall and people are slaughtered by crazy people in charge that don't need any help from the CIA, or whatever other black ops orginization to force their will on a populace. Most Americans don't venture far enough down the internet rabbit hole to even be aware of those videos existence, yet there they are. There's plenty of links I could post that could show you more than I could ever speak on, but something tells me TB isn't the place for it :meh:

Bro, I am well aware of the rabbit hole that is the internet. I'm also aware that media channels are also aware of it. For every sensational thing you can find on the internet, you can find an opposite perspective, a 'debunker', a dismisser and so on. It's for that reason I choose to educate myself through as many conflicting sources as possible, and use my own powers of reasoning (which we all have) to draw conclusions, or even accept that in some cases I just won't (probably may not even need to) know the truth about whatever it is. As for sharing information you've found on TB, there's Off Topic forums you could probably start a thread in if you wanted?

Haha oh shoot I forgot all about that! Thanks Jimmy, makes me sad though, I don't do it anymore. I couldn't pay to store about 45 of those paintings so me and a mate hung them out in the streets of Melbourne one night. Most of them disappeared in a day, but one we scaled a locked building to hang was on show for a couple of months. Guy that claimed it posted on instagram he was stoked :)

Again, just because you didn't personally witness it from the comfort of your own special corner of the universe doesn't mean something isn't real. The Govt and media must have a hell of a lot of actors and people willing to fake their deaths in luxurious fashion on their payroll. Must be a plot to distract us from the chemtrails.

When did I say it wasn't real? Thanks for the condescension, but you're editorialising, putting words in my mouth. I never talked about any 'plots'. Seems to me you're quite ready to assume a few things yourself. Like I said, if you want to enlighten me in some way in the off-topic forum, let me know, I've an open mind and I like to reserve judgement about anything until I have a comprehensive view of it.

Hahaha you're not kidding. It's a good example of why I think the media is manipulative actually - to me, especially in this easily offended, politically correct age, the only reason somebody could promote themselves in such outrageously offensive ways would be as some sort of distraction. Give them all the press, and at the end people will be relieved with ANYBODY else. But when I get a visit from the birds I remember not to worry about all of that

Since this thread is derailed anyway I would just like to add this.

I live in Australia I'm not effected by American media, most conspiracy people don't do science or read academic peer reviewed work and get their information from blogs that can be made by anyone. Conspiracies are fun and make more sense but that's because there easy to come up with anyone can make connections that aren't there if they're looking for them.

On Tim's gear though, I'm surprised at how many amps he uses having three behind me that all sound different would annoy me haha
