    Watching him on Hee-Haw is what inspired me to buy a banjo. Never got within a light-year as good as he was.

    So long Roy, you'll be missed.

    Roy Clark was one of those guys that make you wonder why you even bother trying. He will be missed.

    But yeah, I saw it all over FB and took it for granted it was true at first too.

    On a more up note, the guy is a phenomenal musician * and I'm glad he's still with us.

    * Edit: well now I'm seeing it reported all over that it is true. I was sad to think people would hoax a thing like this but now sad to learn that it's true. RIP :(

  13. Some of my earliest musical memories are of Roy Clark picking. What a monster he was. Tremendous talent. Rest in peace, brother.

  16. Roy was one of the beat guitar players I have ever heard. You had to get past his style & hee haw to understand how great he was.

  17. I remember watching Hee Haw back in the 70s and was always impressed with his incredible skills on guitar and banjo. He was definitely one of the Country Greats. RIP Roy. :crying:
