Good choice I use Novak in my xyz basses. He's pickups have my favorite sounds I've gotten so far. Thinking about putting his jazz pickups in my Roscoe; I'm curious how you like the wind in yours.

I did have two...gave one away to my 6th grade student bass player (pre-COVID, I was running two 4-6th grade student rock bands...) Her skill level was worthy of it...she already has a (34" scale) 4/5-fret comfortable reach in the fb money area...amazing!
Thinking about having a Classic Modern Roscoe made with Nordstand HC Single Coils and Nordie premap with VTC control. Want to have Ash body with Ebony Fretboard and Abalone Inlays using 1 of the 2 tops below.

Plus, you've already got the buckeye burl topped bass coming. Enough of that ...... go with a new look.
You could always add a buckeye burl pick guard to the quilt maple Classic Roscoe down the road ........

Anyone know what this wood is? Love the pieces that have sapwood like this? I want to say it looks like Myrtle?
I agree...sure looks like Koa to me. Grain is spot-on for Koa, although it doesn't have as much "orange tint" as usual...
yeah I would say Koa if it had more of the coloring Koa normally has. I almost say it is Myrtle but I haven't seen myrtle like this either. Waiting on Keith to put some coat in on it To see what it looks like wet and to hear what wood he says it is.
@Laklandfan i regret selling that bass big time. I will say of all the Jazz basses I've owned that the Novak "Jaco-wind" pickups on that Roscoe Classic were some of the most alive, real deal vintage sounding pickups I've ever played personally. Paired with the Roscoe it was a huge fat sound
Is that for a TB"er? I don't know why but it gives me BC rich vibes. I never thought about ziricote top.
Not sure who commissioned it. I was looking more at the 2 P-bass p/u's!
I had a really nice ziricote topped Roscoe SKB-3006. Beautiful top wood!
