Roscoe Club

Stopped by the shop Saturday on my way through town to say hi and lay eyes on my current build. It was a quick visit so no time for any pictures, but I should be back there soon to pick up the finished bass {fingers crossed emoji}

Keith is doing well and they are super busy. He was, as always, a gracious host. I’ve been anxious about the timing and outcome of my current build for wholly personal reasons and that’s on me. The build has progressed as it should all things considered and I’ll be excited when it’s complete.

It pains me to read @sunnycal experience, but I know it’s an unfortunate reality. I hope the joy of playing that beautiful bass will eventually ease the negative experience you had.

I know that you've got to be getting excited Nate!
The fact that they were in on Saturday pretty much says it all. They need some relief!

As Jerry Clower once said "Well just shot up here amongst us. One of us has got to have some relief"!

Almost all of my visits to the shop have been on Saturdays. He says he gets a lot done on Saturdays. Another example of his commitment and passion for what he does.

Pics from Chicago…

Hi Steve!
This bass was part of a collection of a retired bassist. All of the pieces we purchased were very well kept. This guitar has a gloss coat and is in excellent condition. The grandson selling the pieces did not know any specifics for this one (ie woods and materials). I've included several images to give you a better idea as to its specifics. It comes with its original case. We can ship to the nearest GC, however there will be a shipping charge which shouldn't be too much. UPS charges us for anything they pick up to ship out for us. The charge would be the same whether we ship to the GC or to you.
I've sent you a quote for this bass, which will make it easier should you want to proceed with the purchase. Just be sure to double check the billing and shipping information.
I've had several inquiries on this one since it hit the website a couple days ago. The emailed quote will make it faster for you TO GRAB IT.

Looks like a Century Standard Plus with a mahogany body diamondwood board, 3 piece maple neck, Bart pups and pre and a gloss coat already, a lot like my Koa 5.
$2,702 tax and shipping.

It's a Koa top 2016 model. The top is pretty thick for a Standard + model. Beautiful bass. Good price : )

Also, Roscoe's black diamondwood fingerboard stock is reportedly fully depleted : (

They did a better job than I would have, and Fritz- aka “the Roscoe PR dept” ;)- got all the important details for you… you could probably shave a few ounces off by putting on lightweight tuners, that’ll be about another $150, but probably get it closer to 9.25 lbs…

I’m not too worried about weight. This bass would probably be used mostly at church where I sit.

Nice!
Looks to be in great condition
It does. I’m very tempted to treat myself. Although I just did with $500 worth of Mono Vertigo bags for my 2 Roscoe’s. I’d need another one of those, too.

That looks like a decent deal. Especially since it has the ever elusive gloss finish (that real helps justify the price) that STD and STD+ basses rarely get. I hear that some folks wait up to 6 months to get a gloss finish on a STD Plus! ;)
