Very true. I have one really nice Roscoe to keep me in the club. I'm debating getting another (fretless) but I'm not sure if I really need one or not. I'd also like to throw some money at one of those REDDI's and maybe a different home practice rig.
*Everybody* needs a fretless at some point. I'm debating why I need to keep my fretted bass - but then I think maybe I'd like something to slap on some day. Can't help you with the other stuff.
Keep the fretted bass, but get a fretless. Definitely! Roscoe makes the best fretless. I have two fretted and one fretless—maple on spanish cedar with Pau FB unlined and it is a joy to play. Mwah City! So yes, you need one.

I guess I can finally say that I'm on the Roscoe train as well. A bit ago, I bought a Roscoe Century *something* 5 here that had been "loved" by its previous owners:
Sent it directly to Sean (StreetScenes here on Talkbass), which means I haven't gotten to play it yet
BUT It's getting a new coat of love, gonna end up being a "brand new" bass:
I don't think there are any Roscoes that color yet, but I could be wrong!

I don't know if you're right or not, but I do know it's too late. The body's already been stripped and cleaned up, so there's definitely no way to put it back!
