Yes, he did! He even sent a picture of it in his plek machine. Very cool process. I’m amazed how there’s no fret buzz or dead spots through all 24 frets with some incredible sustain. He’s a master at his craft!
A good set up will make even the most inexpensive bass play and sound like a bass that cost twice as much.
Funny, I have always said if you roll to the neck pickup and roll back the treble you get a very convincing P bass tone. I think because placement of the neck pickup is further back than most modern basses. I've done this and people thought it was a P bass on the recordings. I usually hate the neck pickup soloed on most modern basses but Roscoe's are an exception. It's actually very usable in this configuration. I think I read somewhere that was describing a Roscoe as a P bass on steroids, kinda like a Sadowsky is a J on steroids. I never got that until I soloed the neck pickup and rolled off a little treble. It truly is a P on steroids.Lol
I don’t believe that the engineer was implying that the Roscoe looked anything like a typical Precision.
It just did the Pbass thing well and with a great B string as well.

Funny you say this, I'm not a Roscoe owner, but I came in here to ask if anyone has ever measured theirs to see how close the neck pickup is to the P position. I tried one in a store once and thought the same as you regarding the P bass tone.

Yeah. Bass Player magazine started that “P bass on steroids” saying in their bass shoot out in the 90’s.
It certainly does that P bass thing but I’ve always been more infatuated with that burpy bridge tone. I totally love that sound!

Patience. It’s day 1 of an update to a site that hasn’t been updated in years, an eternity when you’re talking online stuff. It’ll settle. We all have difficulty with change, but we also adapt much quicker than we realize.

I wish congress would (well, do anything productive) change this to be the national anthem. It’s more appropriate, easier to sing and has a beautiful melody. It’s not about war. Every Olympics I almost hope we don’t win gold so we can listen to the anthems of other countries instead of our impossible to sing, arpeggiated little ditty about war.
