I owned that one for a.bit after Shane sold it. The neck feels a lot more chunky than any other Roscoe I’ve ever played. The quilt is gorgeous but it is also paper thin. That surprised me.
Their dual coils aren’t like other dual coils. They definitely sound less wide and more focused. A very good thing for certain applications…and their parallel wound duals are amazing for coil splitting!
Yeah. It was a thin top (as all STD Plus basses have) but man was it pretty!
I didn’t get to play it (due to my shoulder) but when he received the bass he did mentioned how thick (front to back) the neck felt.
The seller played my Roscoe and he mentioned how much better my neck felt (the blue Roscoe was his first Roscoe).
I wasn’t sure if what he was feeling was a difference in the neck profile or a better setup on my bass.
I had my Roscoe SKB custom for sale for a while, but I played it recently and I was reminded of how awesome it feels and plays so decided to keep it and I ended up buying a jazz version of it
Yes it is. Started as an Ibanez Adam Nitti ANB205! But I moved the neck bridge and pickups repainted the body

I hoped for a better fate for that bass. It deserves a better fate than being passed around from foster home to foster home!
Question to my fellow Roscoe owners: So my new Roscoe jazz' neck is a bit chunkier than my other basses (I thought it would be similar to my other roscoe's slim neck profile) - Do you think it would be worth having a luthier shave it down a bit and refinishing it? any risks of hitting the truss rod? I love the bass but the neck feels more like a C than a D - thoughts?>
If it were me, I would try sending it back to Keith & Kyle, if you have the time to check that option out. Looks like you have many good choices to play in the meantime.
Hi Roscoe fam, it's been a while for me. Nice to catch up on the goings on this spring/summer in the forum.
Question for the group: has anyone played their Roscoe through a Quad Cortex? Im thinking of selling most of my guitar and bass boards to go to that, for simplicity, flexibility, and the inputs on it (I almost ran into an issue micing up my steel pan this weekend). However, I want to make sure I'll be happy with the bass tone. I'm going to try to borrow a friend's QC and/or audition one at a store, but I'm curious if any Roscoe owner is using one (or has used one at some point). Thanks all! Yes. I’ve got a couple friends that sent their Roscoes back and had Keith shave the neck down. Both were very happy. I would have it done by Keith though because he knows exactly how deep the truss rod route is and can shave the neck the max without going into that area.
