My new bass is being shipped today!!! I’m almost ecstatic! Almost! Nightwoman was right!! Last year I told her I was done with buying new basses. She said she didn’t believe me! I guess I’ll see a new pair of shoes in a few days!! Right! We are even!
I just bought one of the new TKL gig bags from Keith. Very nice and sleek. I have a thing for Tolex cases but I use gig bags for gigging.
Okay, so I’ll ask!! What is this “thing” you have for Tolex cases? Tell us your reactions to this photo! {}
Growing up in the 70’s and 80’s in New Orleans my early basses were old 70’s Fenders and Rics that came in Tolex cases and it’s been part of my passion ever since. I haven’t carried hard cases to gigs since the 80’s but I always want them when offered lol. I have a small collection of them in storage just to keep me sane. LOL.
I'm not a clinical psychologist, but.......! I can help you, really! I have two Tolex TKL case with tag still hanging on them for sale, and they come with like new basses inside of them!!
LOL. I’m good now. I am probably going to be getting a new Standard Plus this year and will be satisfied with the hip new gig bag. But thanks so much for the offer.
Yes, Joe, but the packing and shipping costs are ridiculous and drives the prices way up!! But it’s worth it!!
Says one who has owned 30+ new basses and a sweet Candy Roscoe PJ and a beautiful Blonde Roscoe somewhere in the Carolinas! Sorry!! I’m soooo bad!!!
Wow! I asked others about this and was told they did not fit. Much better than an open cavity case. Thanks for sharing. Mark
Well ye old 7 string beast is on its way to its new owner as I await a new to me SKB Custom 3006. I never had any plans to keep the seven but had to try it when it was offered. Now the next Roscoe bass lover can have a turn. The six is my limit. It’s very comfy to me and I have a long history with the six. The seven is a wonderful instrument though. Roscoe quality in a BIG dose.
Congratulations on your sell and the new 6’er that’s coming, @armybass! I kinda wish I had held on to the Roscoe 6’er I had. I think I made my move too soon on that one!
I have no plans to part with my 7, but if circumstances required me to sell a bass, that'd be the one. Interestingly, it looks like it might be gaining a place in a current project's setlist. The fretless SKB 3006 is still my #1.
