**Rugby World Cup 2011**

Just caught up with this....Scotland did well, just not enough. Tries, we need tries......if we had 5 points for every time we got to the 5m line and effed it up (as my fellow countryman pointed out).....we could be world champions.....

Our kicking game is reasonably good.....and we have wee moments of genius.....but it doesn't hold together particularly well, and we just don't the tries consistently....the one thing in my opinion that separates us from proper 'world class teams' (especially the consistency or lack thereof with our set piece work...scrums and line outs.....)

Wales - South Africa final would be pretty sweet, I still think the bok can add more fuel to their fire!

Wales are looking on fire, tho I do feel for Ireland, they played like heroes but just didn't manage to get the edge.

England got a good honest pounding by the French. Something I didn't expect. The French came out like a team possessed, and England did the usual of lagging around for the first half (granted, not as badly as they have), and they were punished for it.

Wales - France could be interesting if both teams keep playing at that level!

South Africa are out, despite having Australia on the back foot for almost the entire game. Perhaps "Advance Australia Fair" should be replaced by something more appropriate "I Should Be So Lucky", for example.

To be fair, though. The Southern Hemisphere teams still seem to be much faster and harder than the Europeans.

Australia, Australia, Australia. You can slice it any way you like but we spilt cooked lobster on them: they were 'Mournay stained'. The Boers will bore no more.

Australia-New Zealand in the semis.

I think the score flattered the All-Blacks. Argentina were definitely not as out of the game as the score suggests.

I'd say Wales-New Zealand in the final. I don't think the French can take the Welsh like they did England, and I doubt the Aussies can win against play again.

Not seen the NZ - Argentina game, just the score (ITV Player was refusing to play it so I just looked at the scores). Can't really comment on it other than it was a painful score for a knockout stage! But I'm sure it wasn't as big a gap as the score suggests.

I feel sorry for South Africa, they were the stronger team and certainly should have had a few penalties towards the end (high tackles galore), wasn't entirely sold on there being a forward pass before what would have been that SA try either. But I guess it's the way the cookie crumbles.

Looks like the All Blacks are going to walk into the final, Australia got lucky and certainly aren't playing up to the standard that they have. Aus need to up the game to have any chance next week.

The South tend to run it more and the North are more about battering each other.
