This old saying proved itself false so many times, I'm surprised people still use it...
No offense meant, but you should wake up up to the 21st century! It's 40 years now since we've been living in marketing era.
Artificially rising prices to be seen as an exclusive product, a sign of wealth, is common technique. It's not better than others, it's just more expensive, and by owning it you show the world you're a richman.
Anyway, I love Sadowsky basses, and if I could I would happily pay 8000$ for a customized unique NYC. Maybe I'll do it someday.
But for now, I will stand with my Japanese metroline.Enjoy your single cut! It's for sure an amazing piece of art!
I had no idea that an unlined fretless 5 was an option with these. Now they are definitely on my radar!
I wonder if the headstock label dispute with d-bag who snagged the trademark in China is going to be resolved anytime soon?

I might have been the only lunk that missed it, but the Warwick MEs are guaranteed under 9.5 lbs and not the 8.5 lbs like the early Japan builds.
Just because I've seen Roger @Sadowsky on this thread and he may read this; I, and I'm sure many others, will definitely be picking one of these up if there is a VTC option. Would it not be possible to have this as stock? I don't see why someone would NOT want to have that as an option, so it seems like a huge impediment to these things selling without it and surely wouldn't add much to the manufacturing cost? The Sire 5ers have great electronics but MAJOR neck dive and some pretty poor hardware, so I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting to swap out the Sire for something like the Metro Express. And the Sadowsky logo would really be the cherry on top! Good luck with that dispute, I will never understand peoples' inclinations to do something like that!

There is a VTC retrofit kit. I made my basses for 20 years before incorporating the VTC as standard, rather than an upgrade. There will also be upgrade Sadowsky pickups available as well.
Thanks Roger. I had a question about whether there seemed to be an upcoming resolution about the trademark issue. Should I pose that to Warwick as well?
I own all of my intellectual property and license to Warwick. Do not write them about anything related to my trademarks. The wheels of justice turn incredibly slow in China. We are hoping we will know something around March 2021.
