Trying something different for the third face panel... birdseye maple veneer with some hand cut inlays. Here is a picture from the inside to give you an idea. I still have to inlay the two pieces and vacuum bag it to a panel tomorrow evening.
The third panel was in the vac bag for a few hours today. I pulled it out for long enough to repair a couple of spots, cover the repairs with tape, and put the panel back under vacuum.
Here's the current status:
Next steps are:
- Three tops are laminated
- Three backs are laminated
- Three sets of internal frames are cut

- Determine the body thickness to match the case
- Build three internal frames with neck blocks and perimeter wiggleboard
The three frames are partially assembled.
The frames act as the router bearing guide to trim the neck and heel blocks to shape.
Tomorrow, I will be busy with other stuff, so I probably won't get the inner sides on until Monday.

I managed to find a bit of time today to trim the neck and heel blocks, rip and dado the wiggle board, and glue one side of the inner wrap onto one of the frames.
Here's what I mean by the inner wraps or inner sides. There will be veneer applied over this in a future step.
During the Winter Build Off, I followed your experimental method with great interest. I had a lot of trouble visualising the whole thing in 3D, in spite of all your photos and explanations. Now, once again, I'm following. Hopefully I'll get the hang of it one day, so I can try this myself.

Dramatic re-enactment of how the frames work as router bearing surfaces to trim the neck and tail blocks. Also an end view of how the dadoed wiggle board strips key in between the frame pieces to keep them properly spaced and parallel.
Cool process. It’s almost like you are growing a bass in an almost organic process instead of building it.
I like seeing how people put their bits together.
