The side veneers are on.
Now I'm going to add the top bracing to the frame. Later, I will shave them back to match the front panels like a shaped centre block.

Realy cool project, I had never seen this construction method. The plywood frames are all the structure the body will have, right? No center block? And what are the sides made of, is it balsa wood?
The sides are a kind of plywood called "wiggle board". It is used in the furniture industry because it bends in one orientation, but not the other. I steam bent veneer to wrap around the outsides.

Windsor Plywood usually carry it - out here it's labeled "bending plywood".
The family business (wife started it after watching too much "wife porn" aka HGTV) gets it from Central Fairbank Lumber | Quality Lumber, Mouldings & Building Supplies . I use so little of it that I get by on the off cuts
IIRC, it is a common method for building surf boards, which is a former activity of the OP.

Yeah it's known as bendy ply in these parts.
How long has it been since I've posted something that makes it seem like I make things up as I go along? It seems like hours.
I'm building three bodies and I have 5 necks in various states of readiness.

- purchased neck to be used with the blue/yellow/orange body
- seconds quality neck ($5) that could be repurposed for one of the other bodies as a guitar or sub-short scale bass

I am curious to see if I can steam off the fingerboard, add some thickness and then plane it to straight (probably not, but for 5 bucks, who cares. even the fretboard is worth that).
- 30" scale neck that got set aside for a few years until the back-bow went away. I could make one into a bass.
- 30" scale neck that had originally been on the WBO 20?? "Sub-Woofer On A Stick". I could make one into a bass VI.
Some great options there. I have to admit I completely missed that some of them are gonna be guitars, guess I didn't read the first post carefully. I wonder how different neck lengths are going to balance with the hollowbody design.
Note that your first post says non-bass category, but on the SBO main thread it's listed as a partial build.
A large design constraint for this project is to have the instruments fit in a commercially available case. These will all fit the case for a Casino / ES335.
Sub-short scale basses are the same scale as guitars, but when strung with a BEAD bass set of strings, they tune to EADG, like a BEAD bass with a capo at the 5th fret.
The 30" scale necks would need to be positioned carefully, and the bridge would need to be moved closer to the tail.
