What made you like the elite better? I just picked up my studio 5 (pictures above) for $350

well, while good looking, the aesthetics just weren't my thing, and the overall tone compared to the elite just didnt do it for me. the elite had a fuller bottom and smoother midrange while the studio had a more mid-foward tone to it that was there even with the mid cut. thinking back, the studio would've made a great fretless, but fretted, it just wasnt for me. the elite ended up getting the preamp pulled and independent tone pots for each pickup with .022 capacitors. even passive, the bass is nice and full sounding with a good midrange growl that isn't overpowering.
