Schecter Owners Club, part 3

i have an 004. i've played the stiletto studio and elite years ago briefly. i think there are a variety of stilettos over the years but when i was comparing 004 to stiletto there was only the custom, studio and elite.

i like the 004's brass nut and the string through feature. it is well built and bright and clear. the neck seems thicker front to back than the stilettos. nut width i think is the same at 1.496"
the stiletto studio and elite are neck through. the custom and 004 are bolt on.
the stilettos use emg pickups and the 004 use schecter pickups.

Awesome. Thanks for the info.

I got a new Stiletto studio 5 yesterday. I´m trying to find how to get the action lower without terrible amount buzz as it is way too high for my taste but i haven´t got it yet. Haven´t yet touched the nut though. Not very impressed with the E-string (sounds and feels dead). But the bass looks awesome :)
After having it for two days i still consider my Ibanez SR505 as my main basss. These two basses sound very different and my ears need to adjust to the Schecter sound.

Beautiful Schecters! I almost went with the Hellcat, but then got a deal on a Fender VI that I couldn't pass up. How do you like it? Did you compare to any other VI's before choosing the Hellcat?
squier vi and pawn shop vi weren't out when i bought the hellcat in 2009. stores didn't stock a lot of short scale 6s so i didn't have much to compare. japanese fender bass vi reissues were hard to find and expensive and again not in stores. now that i've tried them, the squier VI and fender VI string spacing is a little tighter than the hellcat's.

recently i found out about the music man silhouette bass. the nut and string spacing is even wider than the hellcat. not shergold marathon 6 wide, but a little bit better. i bought the silhouette and like it better than the hellcat so i'm trying to sell the hellcat now.

Hmm. One of the reasons I own a VI is because of the narrower string spacing! I mean, what's the point of having a wide-spaced VI? Might've as well just buy an "regular" 6-string bass and up-tune it! :o

To each his own! :D

You still can, need to sell,to make room, and scale down? Bought it on a whim, trying to get back down to just two players.

Ha! The Omen Extreme is a great bass, but I bought 2 Blackjack ATX's that I much prefer instead (a C-4 and a C-5). *And* I already had to sell the C-4 to fund my Fender VI purchase. So no, I am definitely not in the market. But GLWTS! Me? I can't imagine having only 2 (and I couldn't fit my AEB in this pic!). :D

Yeah I requested a # months ago. Oh well it's not like you're gonna meet someone on the street: "You're part of the Schecter club? Me too, I'm 304472!"
"Uhhhhh...I don't have a number"
"Then get outta my face loser"!
