More advice - if you just want one for home practice or coffee-house type gigs, just go with a mini. I haven't tried one, but the two-speaker cabs are too much, IMO, if you're not needing real volume.

I've consistently gotten compliments on the sound from soundmen and pro players (not necessarily bassists either).

I thought you moved away.

Couldn't agree more. I bought a mini 12 w/out horn and together with my 1210, this is the best sounding rig I've had so far, I really like it and I've received compliments myself about how the bass fills the room without being too loud. I have to say that adding a 55-01 to the mix made a serious contribution.

Jorg is the man, he deserves all the accolades that have been bestowed upon him. I have to say, you can't go wrong when dealing with him. His cabs you know about, his service is excellent and he is personally committed to his products and company. You get great sounding cabs that are well made and IMO still reasonably priced, very powerful and not back-breakingly heavy. Iv'e said it before and still say it, these cabs are a fantastic solution for the regularly gigging bassist for size, price, and sound.

Hey :) Schroeder fans-I was considering getting a 1212 :hyper: cab(or 1210)-and getting a Yorkville 800H amplifier to power it,or an Eden 550 or 800 ...what do you guys think? I haven't had the chance to try the Schroeder cabs :crying: or the Yorky yet-but I've used the Eden heads...Peace... ...DAcat.

From what I've read, an Eden head + Schro cab is a sure-fire cant-miss. And from previously having a 550, I can just imagine that tone being pushed through a dual-speaker design... Wow!!

I have an Eden WT-550 with a 1210 and a 1212. The tone and volume produced from this small set-up is very impressive. I easily have more low-end and as much punch as my old 410XLT. The 550 is great and puts out a good amount of power (700 I believe at 2ohm), but I'm thinbking of sending it in and having it upgraded to the 800 which apparently they are doing now.

That is definately an affirmative.
I played a blues jam type job last night with two loud guitars, pinao, drums and bass...Took the 1210, powered by a wt800b pushing 1100 watts bridged into the 1210. Input gain at 5, master gain a 2.5...plenty of volume, punch and low end. Playikng a Rev 5 and a G&L 2000LE fretless, I had no problem being heard on stage, not in the club...with no PA support. The other bassist sitting in were all like "what the heck is that little thing, and how is it possible for it to do what it does?"

I was all like "cause it's packed with top secret Schroeder Mojo."

They looked at me like I was crazy...

I've had my 1210 for a while now. I was playing a blues gig in a small club. I was set up in front of the house bassist's cabinet - an Eden 8/10. I guitar playing friend who sat in with us told me at the end of the night that he thought I was playing through the 8/10! I use an Alembic F-1X into a Crown XLS 602. I use only one side of the Crown, so I'm putting 400-600 watts into the cab. I've used it at several clubs where I used to have to bring a stack of speakers to be heard. I LOVE this cabinet.

Wow! That sounds great. Will I have to send it in to Eden to do this and how much will it cost?

I don't know this for sure, but I've heard this from several sources now about being able to upgrade the WT-550 to the WT-800 through Eden. I haven't done to much in terms of contacting Eden about the cost and the time duration it would take. If I was to send it off though, I would need to find a temporary head, so I need to factor that into the cost as well. If the rumor is true that you can in fact upgrade the 550 to the 800, that would be the most amazing little amp out their in terms of tone and power.

*Edit: I just spoke with a tech from Eden and they said there is no upgrade to the 550 to the 800 because as he put it, they are essentially the same amp just set up with different configurations. The power section of the two are about the same and have the same transistors etc, so there's basicly nothing to upgrade. He also said that at 2ohm, the 550 puts out 750 watts.

Wee. A couple weeks until I get my two 410s. I had originally ordered 21012s, but I've decided 8 10s would be better for my tube setup (Trace V6). This is going to be a monster rig.

Now I'll have my 1210 for small gigs, a single 410 for medium, my 310212 for large and my dual 410s for super size. Would you like fries with that?

You know that you are required to take a picture of it all together right?

Oh, and let us know when you're going to try it all out together. Its storm season over here so I might mistake it for thunder.

SMASH, the Monoblock II works fine. Turns out I had a bad jack on the speaker cab I was using. It's one hell of an amp that I can't ever let go due to its value to volume ratio. I also think Jorg would do quite well with guitar cabs (and I think he's experimenting with them right now).

Yes, I will be taking a picture of my whole Schroeder family once it arrives. Then I will definately hook it up. The question is, should I use my PLX3402 or Trace Elliot AH1200SM (it'll do 600 watts per side at 2Ohms, and these are Trace watts). I could also use my V6 and any combination of amps. Oooh I'm waiting to make the earth quake.

Dang!

Just when I was finally able to keep up with loud guitar players!

Treachery!

I'll never play in a band where the guitar player has *my* secret weapon!

Dang!
