I keep hearing how big they sound for their size but does that just mean they sound louder than a small box would suggest or that they sound loud period?
anyone know of any soundbites or recordings i can listen to?
Being in uk there is no way i can try before i buy

You're gonna need to tell us what you want and what you need....and which is more important to you.

If you want a big rig...you may never be quite happy inside even with small box that suits your needs.

no no. sorry. i want a small rig. im currently using a MAG 300 C-115 combo as a cab with a ABM Evo2 300watt head. i need a good, loud 4 ohms 350watt+ cab thats not much bigger than the MAG as i dont have much room in the car.
The Mini12+ fits the bill perfectly on paper its just that i need to see what it would look like at the back of the stage with the ABM sitting on top. i know size isnt important but its nice to have somthing there especialy if i have to keep bending down (im just over 6ft) to make adjustments plus ive only ever used 1x15 cabs before and never used a horn loaded cab.
im playing covers to 50-150 people, drums, lead guitar (40watt Fender twin) and singer also plays guitar through a small roland cube.
I want to get the most out of the amp with only 1 cab but of course cost is also a factor but not a major one but without trying one im just trying to gather as much info as i can before handing the money over

I'm going to say the mini12 or the mini12+ should fit you great.


Actually, I'm betting hard that it will give you plenty of room for more also.

I'm switching my rig currently. from a Bmax + Carvin DCM1000 and a 1210 to a Mesa Walkabout and a mini12+

I decided to make this move because I've been running my carvin in stereo (300watts) into the 1210 due to the lack of a bridging cable. I noticed that I'm generally not even turning up to 9 O'clock on my power amp (preamp set at noon or less) and having enough volume to be told to turn down often.

I've played that rig without the help of the house PA in a club with 300+ capacity and it sounded great. The power amp was maybe set at 10.

So I figure if I push the walkabout a little harder through the mini12+ I should have little trouble reaching similar volumes, everywhere we play has PA support, the only reason I ran straight rig that one time was because I started off too lound and the sound guy liked it :D

If you're willing to wait (which I recommend with a big purchase) I'll be giving full reports on my setup as soon as I get it. (should be by the end of january, I hope)

Thanks Mike. Now the Schroeder 1212 is rated at 1000Watts is there a noticeable difference in the sound of 400 Watts as opposed to 1200 Watts going through the cab?

Just talked to Jorg a bit.
Testing on the neo equipped Schroeder Lights is going exceedingly well. He says the neo 1212 will take a DB750 sized whipping, even with the bass tuned down to a low F#.

Available around Winter NAMM time...

Yeah, I'll be adding to my Schroeder collection;)

I would expect to pay a small premium for the Light Series, but I personally think it will be very well worth it.

In fact, I *may* sell my current 410, and get a nearly same weight 310212, just because I can;)

Hey LoNote-love your handle...anyway,happy :) to have been any help in your decision to get your 1210-I really loved the 1210 I tried out-but I just loved the 410 a little more, and..... I'm KINDA :bassist: loud! But I'll probably never ever use the volume this cab can put out unless our band scores the bigtime... :hyper:...but I'm ready... :D

Same here. I used to think Schroeder was a piano player until I came to this site.

I actually found TalkBass while doing a search on Schroeder cabinets and by the time I'd read through every page I decided to stay!

Then I bought the 1210, tried unsuccessfully to swap it for a 1212, but have been thankful lately that I didn't, as the 1210 has actually changed my taste in bass tone!

We're normally playing in a small bar where we are now but for New Years we'll be playing in the main dining area which is a lot larger.

Well if the "lights" as light as projected, my drummer and i can handle them easy ;)

And the PA's i get to play through outside SUCK for bass. They're stressed out enough just handling the three guitars, vocals, keys and horns i have to deal with. And on top of that, i'm kind of a focal point in the band which means i really need to be heard AND felt (think old incubus). And we're just loud as hell in general. Yea i wear ear plugs :cool:

If i play one out and it's good, i won't get another. But if i'm struggling in the volume department, hello 610412 :p :D

So take it easy with the jokes or i'll set-up my rig in front of your house and blow it down with a single stroke of the low B :mad: :p

Has anyone had the chance to play any testing Neo Schro cab? I contacted Jorg and seems very very excited about them, but I would like to read a couple of players reviews before I order the Schro neo 410 instead of the UL410.
Sorry if something similar has already been posted, this thread is HUGE.
