With my 310212 on the way, I started to think about how the 4 ohm final impedance is reached with 5 drivers. I emailed Jorg about this, and he replied to me that there are two 8 ohm tens wired series-parallel with a 16 ohm ten for a net impedance of 8 ohms. That 8 ohm impedance is then parallelled with the pair of 4 ohm twelve inch drivers which are in series. This indeed gets to a 4 ohm final impedance. However, the two 8 ohm tens appear to handle an equal amount of power to the 16 ohm ten on its own. In other words, each 8 ohm ten gets half the power of the 16 ohm ten.

I want to know what any of you guys think of this issue, and in particular I'd like to hear from 310212 owners. I am confident with my logic above, so this makes me slightly concerned.

Interesting, I would have thought that three 8 ohm 10s would be wired parallel for ~2.6 ohm, in series with two 4 ohm 12s in parallel.

Well, I run 3 cabinets. A Mini 12, a 1212 and an SWR Bass Monitor. All 3 cabinets are 8 Ohm's. This gives a 2.6 Ohm output. My Bass 750 runs at 850 Watts at 2 Ohms, so I am right there with it. I really like to run at 2 Ohms. It just seems to bring a presence to my rig.

Nothing but compliments from my band, and that NEVER happens! :D

Everything that's been said about Jorg's cabs is true, especially regarding their omnidirectional nature. It sounded great (and even) no matter where I moved during rehearsal. This one cab has replaced two 2x12's and two 4x10's. Amazing. Played my Spector Euro LX through my Fender 300 PRO and loved the sound so much that I never even bothered to try it with my Bmax/RBI/Crest CA9. Sounded like butta! :D :bassist:
