What I'd love to do is borrow all of our 310212s (I count 4 between the 3 of us) and show up to a gig with all of them. The look on my guitarist's face would be priceless. I've been warning him for like 6 weeks that I would be adding a piece to my rig that will crush his loud assed Mesa rig. I'd love to show up at a tiny bar gig and say, "well, here it is".

Just got my tracking info from Jorg, you get yours yet ?
Im just about to order a cab from Jorg and was going for a 1212 but i notice that the 1210 seems more popular
Im used to playing a MAG C-115 so was thinking the 1212 is closer (and better of course) but most of you seem to favour the 1210.
anyone care to comment on this? i realsie the 1210 cuts through a bit better but is the low end different?

Yes...That's the difference I hear between my 1212 and 1210. I prefer the 1210's clarity and punch, but the 1212 does put out more low end. To me, the 1210 sounds like a REALLY loud 210 and the 1212 sounds closer (but louder) than two 112's. It seems that the 'side firing' speaker in Jorg's design really sets the tone of the specific cab.

Its a lot less hassle if i get the GS210 and quicker (im in the UK) but i really want a 1210 or 1212

there is also a weight issue. if the aggie gs210 is anything like it's look alike brethren the eden 210xlt, you're definitely in the 65+ pound range for a 210..that's "rediculous" in my mind. The 1210 is a punch out, efficient cab with I feel more "useable" bottom. It's not mushy at all. I could easily distort the xlt210 out when I had it, and had about the same wattage you do (I had an swr 350 head at the time). It's bottom end was literally only "good" at a gig where there was no echo at all. I could not hear the 210xlt on stage.
1210 takes up less room, can be stood on it's side with the side firing 10 facing up if you get into a really difficult boomy room which effectively cuts down on the bottom slightly but puts the sound more towards you ears. Based on your description of venues that are not huge, I feel the 1210 will be tighter sounding, punchier, still project serious lows, but can be heard better both on and off stage. the XLT does not go down as low. It's loud, it's not an inefficient cabinet, but it's very "limited" in it's ability to be a single cabinet solution in many if not most venues. Again, I don't know how far off of the GS210 the xlt210 is speakerwise etc., but it's weight and similar design I would question whether you'll be as happy even if it costs 60 pounds sterling less.

you are right about getting the Shroeder, i really want one it was silly of me to even think about anything else, its just that i would have to wait longer for one and im a bit weary about buying something from so far away. it not Joreg, just the distance and wait time plus it would be a lot of hassle if i had to send it back or get it repaired being in the UK but i am going to get a 1210 i think, hopfully ill place the order in the next week or soLarry Kaye said:

I largely agree with this, but I think to say that the 1210 is a loud 2x10 is under-cutting the amount of bass that these Schroeders have, even the smaller cabs like the 1210. I don't think KJung meant to imply anything in his statement, but I want to emphasize the ridiculous amount of low end that comes from the single 12" in the 1210. The 1212 is definitely beefier, but the 1210 is by no means bass-shy for something of its size.KJung said:

Ive been using a MAG 307 C-115 for the last 2 years so its got to be an improvement although i think it might take a few gigs to get used to the cab. never played a 12", 10" or horn using bass before, always been 1x15 because of space and cash restrictions.
Only got to page 39 in this thread and about the last 10 (working back) before my mind was made up.

DAcat; yep, Schroeders make little amps sound real good. My 1965 Fender bassman sounded real good thru my 1210!

Ive just noticed that with all the praise going on for the cabs you lot seem to be using loads more power than i can get at the moment
maybe it was a bad move getting the 300 ABM. thing was i needed a new amp very quickly and i had to be able to carry it and i wanted to get it from a local shop rather than the net (again because of time)
I know my old combo was loud enough for most of my gigs so the new rig will be fine, just wished i had more power to put through it.
guess i could sell one of my kids on ebay
