Its really just what sounds better to you and that gows for all brands. But I'm sure like with anything everyone will debate why they like Y over X...... heck what would TB be with out it.... right..... ;)

Right now there are no 8 ohm, but there are plans for 8 ohm cab's later. These cab's throw and are so loud that they really will replace multi cab rigs for some. Two of them are deafening.

I know Jorg is also planning on building the cab's with a combo space and could actually be ordered with the space now, they just haven't been advertised yet and would be built to order.

not sure on the drivers, I thought the 12" looks very similar to the stuff Berg, Epi and Aggie use (I've not opened the box to see the 10").... I'm sure the end result is as much the box, x-over, etc IMO/E. The Schroeder is definately topshelf stuff.

the sound is WAY larger then the package size!

I'm gonna push it with one channel of the RMX2450 tonight at rehearsal... should be interesting :bassist:

as with my basses, anyone in the NYC/NJ/PA area that wants to trek to the Jersey Shore is more then welcome to look me up and try this out!

Unless Jorg took the time to screenprint his name on the dust caps, I seriously doubt if they are the consumer Eminences you're talking about. The custom (OEM) models that Epifani, Bergantino and Aguilar use are readily available to you and me if you buy the minimum quantity (typically 100) and have a resale certificate. Custom options such as stenciling your name on the dust cap are inexpensive. So there is no reason for any designer to settle for the consumer line when they can have one of the 5,500 custom drivers that Eminence offers. I can't speak for Avatar but I think their goal was absolute minimum cost.

While the wattage, magnet weight, voice coil diameter, and efficiency specified may appear the same as the common Delta drivers or those used by other mfrs., the Theile-Small parameters are "better" for the custom drivers.

Understand the driver’s in many cabinets by different brand’s are very much the same. Check specs on other cabinets like voice coil, etc. The difference in the cabinets comes more to tuning and engineering of the cabinet, Crossover design, the way the cab is braced and constructed as well as type of material its insulated with. Last but not least the Tweeter or Horne in which they manufacture uses.

You can give 3 different manufacture’s the same wood, speaker’s yet tune and brace them the way they like and you will find that they all sound completely different....

The woofer doesn’t create a different tone, its the tuning and constructural Engineering of the cabinet which includes crossover’s, tweeter's, etc that make the cab’s sound different. Some manufactures use more expensive components in their cabinets, which creates the cost to be higher and some just have higher profit margins.

Like someone mentioned, the Avatar isn’t designed to be a high-end cab. It might be worth the money to people, but the cost in components are no where near the cost and quality components that other brands use while the drivers might be the same only different colors.

I've got a very, very bad condition.

Even owning the "ultimate" (and in my opinion, EA and Accugroove are pretty close to the top of the heap) doesn't fully scratch the itch.

But in truth, it's more a case of GES - Gear Experience Syndrome. I just want to try everything out and hear how it sounds. Those cabs look intriguing, and hence, I am intrigued.

no drummer :bawl: I'm really getting fed up looking for a drummer! this is the 3rd drummer audition in a month that was a no show!!!

Anyway, I played my 1210 with 1/2 of a QSC RMX2450 pushed with the monitor send of our deck.

I CANNOT WAIT TO PUT THE 1100 watts THROUGH IT!!!

all I could think of while tweeking the board's eq was Cartman's line "Respect my Authority" :bassist:

it made the bass (fretless 6) feel like it was the center of attention... it wasn't a "Wow listen to that cabinet" it was "sit down and shut up, the bass is speaking Now!"

The guitarist was all smiles.... he got to open up his Mesa 2x12 combo a bit more then normal.

It had similar punch and focus of my BagEnd Stack... but filled the room (2 car padded garage) more then the old rig ever could (in it's defence it was a 1x12 and a 1x15 pushed with 260 watts split between them).

I'll try to post a more thorough review after I get the rest of the rig and play out with it.

The ports are inside cut on the panel corners of the folded Horne. The panel goes to the back edge of the cab and it is ported on those two corners.

By not doing a tradition bottom or top port Jorg was able to keep the cabinet more compact. Its about an inch taller and wider then an Epifani 310 if that give you a visual Idea of size.

He did a wonderful Job designing the cab's and I think when people play through them like those that have so far. Will agree there is a place for his Cabinets in this industry!
