Rudy's is a great shop, I've bought a few pieces there over the years. They turned me on to BagEnd when I was thinking of going with a first gen SWR Baby Blue cabinet.

I live in town with EA... all my contact with the company have gone unreturned and I'm still suprised I've never seen any pieces locally (stores OR players)

I've always had an easy time getting through to them. Then again, I've never emailed them - just called them right up. You know, there's only one shop in all of the NYC area that carries EA... and I still bought mine from Bobby G..

Hopefully Jorg will be better represented here.

You should have bought the Baby Blue - those first generation ones are much sought after! :D

this post is long overdue due to computer problems(sorry jorg) but after reading this thread wanted to submit even more feedback on these cabs.

ive been dealing with jorg for a good while and have become friends.

the first cab i tried was the 410.awesome cab, just too much for my needs.great for those with minimal to no pa support.very tight and VERY LOUD.

i purchased a 1210 a few weeks ago and now have several gigs under my belt with it.i would say it is as loud as the 410s ive played.very tight and balanced and plenty of volume and low end.supprisingly loud for its size.built like a tank and with top notch components.i switched from an epi 310 and is louder than that one for sure.i play in a 7 piece show band and and a traveling vegas style show band and we are pretty loud.i have to say i did get some funny looks walking in with this little cab and setting it up next to our guitarist and his mesa stack.i do put a wash of bass into my wedge but let the schroeder do most of the work.however showed up to an outdoor gig last week and as a rare occasion had no monitor support.eventhough it would have been nice to have a second cab,the 1210 did a great job of handling the job.my whole objective was to find a small but mighty cab as i play up to 5 nights a week and lugging gear at 2 am isnt as fun as it used to be.after reading the posts here(thank you james hart-i was reading your posts)i decided to take a chance on the 1210-i wasnt dissapointed.

last weekend before the dfw gathering jorg came by my house with a 21012 and a 1212(and his wife-a lovely person and jorgs biggest fan.nice to have support like that).spent the better part of the day jamming through all three cabs.i liked them all but my personal fav so far is the 1212(in the livingroom at least) which i kept as well.took them both(the 1212 and my 1210) to my gig sat and the 1212 is a slappers dream.louder and thicker sounding than the 1210,i went slap happy.switched to the 1210 in the second set and while it wasnt as loud and not as bassy, had more cut and definition.i love em both-would love to try them together but not sure i would ever need that much volume.these things are loud.

im lovin em and its great to see a new company having success.jorg is very passionate about his work and a great guy as well.(and a very good player i might add)great job and add me to the list of very satisfied customers.

peace

Cool Review Bass Jam. How is the low B string punch and capacity on the 1210 or 1212? I play a somewhat heavy handed low B at times and lesser cabinets would fart out, chuff, choke and gurgle. I've been using a Bergantino HT322 which handles the low B wonerfully, but the cab weighs 93 lbs. Would be an amazing thing to use a smaller lighter cabinet if it could reproduce my Low B with the same punch, definition and focus.

Would I need to go to the 410, 0r the 21012? Or will the 1210 or 1212 get the job done? I almost never have PA support, so my rig needs to do it all, inside and out. I play in an R&B, blues, jazz and funk band. - Gary

well first off the 1210 and the 1212 handle a b-string very well.the 1212 is super tight all the way down.i use a stewart 2.1 and even wide open the 1212 doesnt fart out(within reason)as i said though the 1212 didnt cut through as well as the 1210 on the one and only gig i used it.i hope for different results this weekend.i opted to go with 2 smaller cabs for flexability.a single small cab is more than enough for most of what i do.they are loud.if i need more ill take the second cab.it really depends how loud you need to be.i play anything from small clubs to very large venues and need the flexability.

of the bigger cabs i prefered the 410 over the 21012.it is killer.its all personal taste though.the 21012 is also very popular.the reason i didnt go with a single big cab is that it is simply too much cab for my smaller gigs and i personally liked the sound of the 1210 better than the bigger ones.it is also alot easier to lug around.when i was first talking to jorg he recommended the 1210 and a 410 to cover anything i do-small and large.sorry if that wasnt much help but again it really depends how loud you need to be.with no pa support and pretty large gigs i would reccomend a 410 as a one cab does all.be careful on small gigs though-did i mention the 410 is LOUD.i went through the same thing you are and am happy with my choice.
BEST OF LUCK-please let me know if i can be of more help or pm me.

Bassjam, can I assume your bridging the Stewart into the 1210 or are you using one side in stereo? Wondering from those of you who have one or 2 of these cabs if 2 of them under 1000 watts would be sufficient for a medium to loud 2 guitar classic rock band or are they like the Acmes and like more power? Thanks in advance for the replies.

These cabs are very efficient. You don't have to throw a lot of power at them . Still, I run a PLX1602 bridged to my 1210 but my GK 700RB drives it well also.

As has been stated before in this 'soon to be' mega-thread, not only are the cabs efficient, they also project sound in a very effective manner. I would guess that fact makes them seem even more efficient than they actually are.

ive used it both bridged and one side(around 1000 watts).i prefer to bridge it tonewise.my normal stage volume is running my stew about half to around 2 oclock/demeter about 50%.ive actually ran the stewart wide open to see what the cab would handle.it took all i threw at it but i wouldnt want to run it that way all the time.i used to run my epi310 with the demeter wide open and pulling the demeter back to around 9-10 oclock.the 1212 seemed to take the full load no problem.never farted out.again this was only in testing and with my normal playing volume i have no real need to push it that hard.but its nice to know you can.
as stated by others these are efficient cabs and i feel 1000watts pushing two cabs would be plenty but keep in mind these are 4ohm cabs.

by the way just for fun i stacked the 1210 and the 1212 and ran the stewart stereo wide open.it was awesome.i tried it both ways but prefered the 1212 on top.not really sure ill ever need to play that loud but man,HUGE sound.

Actually, Rudy's is where I got my Bag End cab. But for some reason they don't advertise Bag End on they're website, nor did they have any in stock (as far I know) when I went there. I guess it's special order only then (I could be wrong though).

:eyebrow: 13 years ago they stocked a few. ;) I scored a Birch S15 then a couple months later went back for a black carpeted S12 (didn't want to wait on a birch one). A guitarist of mine at the time got a 2x12 there a few month later.

Just wondering, has anybody tried using these cabs with something lower than B? Like an F# string? Do they cope with that?

We should have detuned Juneau's Dingwall to A last Saturday at the DFW GTG.

At low 'F#', I don't know how much fundamental you'd get, but I'm guessing that the 21012 or a pair of 1210 would sound pretty good down there (a pair of 1212 would probably work, but you'd lose some punch).

I don't know how well the 410 would do low 'F#'. Be interesting to find out though.
Bet a pair of 410 on the floor would, but that'd be a damn scary system (have a mirror image pair built with the angled baffles towards the outsides of the pair?).

*WHEW* Okay, just finished reading this whole thread. Was a great read though. Definitely.

Okay, I'm cab-less. I had an Avatar 4x10, liked it, but needed lighter so off it went. Sent someone payment for their Avatar B210 but it didn't work out, so now, still cab-less. And now I need a cab ASAP, so I'm buying someone's Ampeg 2x10 to get by for the next month or so.

But the Schroeders have now got almost all of my interest. WAY more than I ever expected to pay for a cab, but I am definitely willing to pay a bit more for the same volume, equal or better in sound, far less in weight, and for ONE cab instead of two (was planning on 210 and 112 cabs).

So now the decision: They only come in 4 ohms so two 8 ohm cabs would be out of the question (is it?). Plus everyone is saying 2 of any of these cabs would blow my ears to kingdom come. A 70+ lb cab is out of the question for me from now on so though I wish I could get the 21012, I can't. So a 1210 was my first thought. Am I right about this? I'm a bit scared (not used to) having a cab sit so low and a bit wary of using a 1x12+1x10 in place of my 4x10s, but from what everyone is saying, it should be just fine...right? Should I be worried about putting my SVT 4 Pro through a 12 + 10?

Mr. Schroeder or any rep from that company: Is there anyway to test drive these? I live in Los Angeles and would be willing to drive just about anywhere. I'm nobody special but would appreciate hearing them at your convenience. Thanks!

Thanks Scooperman,

Do you think I should go bridged? I usually would. But if it can put out decent to loud volume with the one stereo channel (490 watts continuous), then could I conceivably run a pair of them? (one per channel?)

Now THAT would be awesome... (If so, I better start collecting them aluminum cans now!)

8 ohm cabs are not out of the question, but getting them will be rough. I bugged Jorg about it a while ago, and the answer was no. I asked him later on and he said he could do it, but I'd have to wait until August/September. My only guess is that he buys the drivers in bulk to save money, so it'd be very costly to deal with different impedences. Also, if you download the specs for the Delta 10's and 12LF's, you'll notice that depending on the impedence, you will get different TS parameters. It probably doesn't make a huge difference, but then again, it's possible that it'd take a bit of tweaking to get the same sound out of the 8 ohm cab. I too was concerned about the 4 ohm dilema, but I decided to just go ahead and order 2 1210s anyway. It's not a "fun" option, but you can always buy a bigger poweramp and run one per side... you'll lose some of the power, but not all.
