I got it for about $50. You might be able to get it a little cheaper from a big chain.

As for the covers, I don't know if it will still work as I've not seen any of the Schroeder covers. They only stick out about 1/2", so if there is enough room to get them in there, I don't see why it wouldn't work with the cover. Of course, you couldn't have the cover on the cab during transport unless you cut holes in the cover.

The only caveat about the handle is that it was designed for the Portabass line. I don't see the combos on the Ampeg website anymore, so I don't know what the maximum weight capacity is on this thing. The Portabass 2x12 cab only weighs 38lbs, so I would imagine that 47 lbs is within the operating parameters of the handle, but that's pure speculation on my part. I'm not going to be babying the setup, but I will also be damn sure to only lift the cab by the Schroeder's handles and not by the dolly.

I finally got to romp on the 3101212 a bit again tonight. We've spent the last three weeks in and out of the studio so practice, and the cab, have been ignored for awhile.

Due to my stupidity, I forgot to bring back a power cord I borrowed out of my rack, so I went sans compressor. And the true colors of the cab finally were shown.

The tweet was now quiet and understated, and I found myself turning it up significantly without any ill effects.

I also dug the response of my playing in general and am considering dropping the compressor altogether. I used to have to rely on it to not beat up my old cabs, but the schroeder played nice just fine with dynamics as well as a full bore B string attack.

I do have another tweeter I can try out, but it might not be necessary. I thought I eliminated any of the inferior things in my signal chain, but perhaps I was wrong.

Time to sell off some compressors and buy a pre that rocks.

Can't wait to get out and gig with this cab and blow up the stage.

I went to Jorg's house and he let me A/B all the different cabs he had. after spending about 90 min. playing, I decided that I liked the 410 the best. Why? Because it has the tightest response. Yeah, it's a little heavier than the others, and yeah, I probably don't need that much cab for most of the gigs I do, but I really like the way the way it sounds. My drummer LOVES it, and mentions it every gig we play. For his birthday, he wants me to bring my old SVT head to a gig with the 410!

At some point, I may buy one of the "small box" cabs for the increased portability, but mostly as a luxury, not 'cuz I need it.

I should mention that I play all kinds of stuff: rock (several varieties: alt, chick, hard, folk), jazz, blues, nu-metal, even country. My 410 ALWAYS sounds good, and (as I've said before and will continue to say to anyone who will listen) Jorg is a great guy who will take very good care of you.

My cover is just the same. Very tight indeed, but it looks cool in the truck all loaded up. I am waiting for Jorg to get the covers for the Mini's as well. There is no way the handle addition will work with the cover. I like the idea though!

Ok, I've had my 1210 for a couple of days now. I haven't really tried it out yet, but so far so good. You see, at out practice - place (what is the goddamn word in english?) the acoustics are terrible. You can't really hear any bass tone at all, no matter what equipment you use. But I'll let you know one thing: The schroeder surely cuts trough. The first thing that strikes me is that it cuts through the mix like nothing else I've ever played there - withouth having to go loud. But as I've said - I can't get into details regarding sound issues yet, because the location doesn't allow it.

The Thunderfunk+Schroeder combination also is pretty darn loud, and way louder than my old Hartke 3500 and vx410 combination. I don't understand how anyone, ever (except those of you who do stadion tours without PA support) will need anything louder than this. Crank up the bass a little bit, and that 12" is moving enough air for you to feel it.

I'll come back with a closer review once I've fooled around with it under proper circumstances.

Hey, I am becoming more and more interested in the 1210. I was wondering if it stands up to the power of an Ampeg SVT 4 Pro head by itself at a smaller gig.

From what I'm hearing, it sounds like it would. I would also like to run it with an ampeg 4X10 BXT at practice to help cut through two very loud guitarists and a bangin drummer.

Any thoughts from you owners out there?

I played at a jam with four loud guitarists, a keyboard player and a drummer with my 1212 and a WT 550. I had no problem hearing myself..

They sound great with my SWR Bass 750!! I bought mine before I bought my 1212. I also bought it without the horn. I like the warmth and organic sound. This little cabinet kept up with my 3 drummers and 3 guitarists!!!

When I tried out the 1210 Jorg made me run my Stewart 2.1 bridged mono into it... all I could say was WOW!!! it wasn't until I gave that little cab almost everything the amp had until it finally started to fart out. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't been there.

Wow. OMG.

First off, thanks to all of you who put in your $0.02 on the Schroeder cabs (have read every post here, along with pretty much every other post of every thread in 'Amps'). After deciding that portability was going to be my new focus, I got rid of my 810 and went with Jorg' recommendation for a 21012 - I mentioned what tone I was going after (old Mel Schacher of Grand Funk Railroad) he mentioned the very album I had in mind - How cool is that? Someone who can build a killer cab, AND knew my favorite album on top of it!

Well, 70# of new cab feels the same as pretty much any other 70# cab, but I wanted a little more bottom end than the 410, so I went with the 21012 (and its extra weight) - for what it's worth, it seems fairly balanced and it isn't HORRIBLE to lift. The construction on my cab appears first rate - I couldn't see a blemish.

I plugged in my Ampeg SVPCL and SVP1600 and let's just say I finally found MY tone...little bit of line noise (new rack as well, so I'll have to work that out) but I can get every bit of tone I went after...Warm, burpy Jazz...fat, ballsy P Bass...Growly RIC...Big, breathy lows, fat and nasty mids, crystal clear highs. I pushed my power amp to about 70% and couldn't believe throw across the room; not one "fart", either. I can't WAIT to gig with this this weekend!
