I'm thinking a Schroeder 1212 would be the way to go for me (as I love the sound of overdriven 12s).
Maybe. It is, as has been noted, a fairly dark-sounding cab.
I find mine likes some midrange boost on the EQ.
Do the tweeters sound good with overdrive?
Better than many. You might want to roll off some of the tweeter,
though. 1212 sounds pretty good with it all the way up,
all the way off, or anywhere in between. I just played a bit
(at low volume) with my Keeley BD-2 (closest thing to ox-in-a-pedal
I've found so far... not 100% but it'll do for now). Sounded niiice.
I settled on the tweeter just barely on, and a healthy mid and treble
boost on the amp (AI Clarus).
Also, can I pump a good amount of low end using my 100 watt Sunn Sceptre, while still using power tube overdrive?
I don't think you need to worry about hurting the twelves since
the cab is rated to 1000 watts RMS.
Dunno about the tweeter... it's rated at 100 watts, and while 100 overdriven watts will still have most of the power in the lows and mids, I wonder what you'd end up feeding the tweeter.
The attenuator should help, but is there any danger
of burning something out? I dunno. Ask Jorg, he'll surely answer.
P.S. Just so you know, i'm going for [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] kind of sound, but with more booty.
Yeehaw! I love Entwistle. For a single-amp rig that's pretty darn good

I'd like to hear it recorded a little better, I bet it's awesome.
