I'll have a Booth, and I saw Bob at Bass Palace this weekend at the Nashville show and I know he's going to be there as well. Pete Skjolds is going and I think Jorg Schroeder might slip in if he gets some time.

OK...now armed with the knowledge of how to switch on my 31 band eq...I played with the Schroeder 1210 last night in my 8 piece horn band. Here's my observations and opinions...like 'em or ....well there's no reason you shouldn't like 'em!!!
Bass: Mike Lull M5V...alder body, duncan single coils, bart 3 band preamp, maple board
Head: Acoustic Image Focus 600
Cabinet: Schroeder 1210
Other: DOD 31 band EQ and Furman Power conditioner
First observation....cripe is my rack lite!!! about 31 pounds lighter. Wrapped the Focus in a plush bath towel and stuffed it gingerly into the empty two spaces of my rack formerly occupied by a Sunn 1200S head.
2. The Cabinet is fairly easy to carry but by not having to carry two cabs, I was easily able to fit my collapsable cart into the back seat and combined with no steps into and outta the club we played at, it was a pretty low, physical stress setup and teardown for a change.
3. The 1210 has very large rubber feet on it so unless you're on the most slippery of surfaces don't count on easily moving your rig. Put it where it's gonna go from the beginning if possible.
4. The club was pretty decent size and freakin' packed. We couldn't believe this place...Never played here before...I wanted to have dinner before we played with a lady friend, and it was like pullin teeth trying to find somewhere to sit. The bar was a couple of people deep + the person sitting on the chair. Lotsa tables + a separate room for dining only and families with kids with sensative ears who shouldn't be exposed to our volume levels before they attain their driver's licenses!! My guess is that there were around 150-175 in the bar area all night. They were extremely loud talkers. It was noisy in there with and without the band playing. There was acoustical ceiling tile but no carpet anywhere to be found. The room was very alive sounding. Not boomy but very loud.
5. How's the Schroeder you're all asking about right? It's terrific...Played the bass active all night...cut through nicely, lot of clean low end and full at the same time, nice punchy mids, I could hear it plain as day playing next the cabinet. I was never in front of it at all. It had a very prisitine high end, not abrasive...all in all, I've now changed my mind that this is the best single cabinet I've ever owned.
The friends that came and heard us thought the band sounded very similar to how we always sound....So why is this terrific? For me I'm using an amp that's 600 watts less AND 31 pounds less, one cabinet weighing around 47 pounds instead of two weighing 62 pounds (which I understand are pretty darn lite stuff, but it's an extra trip to and from the car and as mentioned above, gave me enough additional space to in the car to take my cart with me).
I had so much volume on the head to spare it was scary. The preamp was set around 12 o'clock and the master volume was at 10:00. My guess is that I had about double the volume available. I had absolutely no farting out. There were a couple of songs I boosted the bass on my guitar all the way up and the cab and amp handled the whole guitar, not just the B string right in stride. I also cranked the highs on a couple of tunes with the lows and the tweeter was never harsh or brittle sounding. It was perfect for me. I got only one comment about the rig from our trumpet player/leader of the band, he thought it sounded great, but, as he said, "your stuff always sounds great, but it's never been so small!!!"
The fact that the band also found no dropoff in tone and volume spoike volumes for me. As far as being able to hear me better on stage or not, the drummer heard me fine, the others heard me no less or more than usual...so as far as I'm concerned the less adjustment they have to make, the easier for me!!
Anyhow...it's not an infomercial, I usually don't get nearly this excited about any equipment I purchase (and usually can't really afford either), but the Schroeder sounded GRRRRREAT.

Back to the Schroeders..
I've used my 1210 and 21012 in all kinds of situations now.. and I still can't imagine a better combo to suit all my needs.... You guys waiting on yours.. I'm sure you will think it's worth the wait... If you're giggin... the Schroeders are awesome!!

As for the Schroeders--I've been saving my pennies for months and was about to buy a setup at my local store, but now...I might have to get me one of these. I keep reading this monster thread and asking myself--Are they really this good?
I played out Saturday night with a rather large band using my Schroeder 410/QSC PLX1602/Alembic F-1X. The band consisted of 2 drummers, 4 guitar players, and 1 keyboard. Everything was mic'd. They told me to turn down! I asked why don't they just turn me down through the board, and the reply was "no, it's the house/stage volume from the bass amp itself". My Modulus M-92 (pre-SS) 5 string is a very hot bass and I do play very aggressively, but man, the lows really rocked - the B string especially. Both the mids and highs were pleasing and present.
I have had a 1212 for about a week now and wanted to say a few things. I haven't done anything more than living room play so far, but I did notice something that I think is worthy of note.
When I first plugged this thing in, I was unimpressed. Maybe it had to do with making EQ adjustments, but I don't think so. I found that the cabinet had great bass response and some mild highs from the horn, but wasn't very full range. After a bit, the middle began to open up. It was only after a few hours of play that I could achieve all the tones I was looking for. I made very minor EQ adjustments, if any, on my iAMP 800 head.
I guess what I am saying is that, in spite of Jorg telling me the cab doesn't really need a break-in, I believe I have observed otherwise. Maybe it happend much more quickly if you feed it power up front, I can't say. You may love your Schroeder right out of the box, but, if you don't, give it some time. This is probably true of any new piece of equipment, though.
