Casanova, Jerry. I've still never played PB. It takes a lot to get me around the Pali
Aloha,
Jonathan

PB's has a house SWR rig Jonathan, that's why I thought your where talking about that club. I'm always pushing the SWR rig to the back room so I can bring in my own rig :D The Schroeder's just sound so much better than the SWR 4/10  BTW I'm the same way about going the opposite direction on the Pali ;)

Covers? What Covers?? I did not see them on Schroeder web site. Are they something I need to ask Jorg about? I should be getting my 1212 late next week :hyper: I cannot wait. As it is now, I have replaced my SWR Big Ben with the Mini 12 w/o horn. WOW. It is very cool. But if there are covers to be had, I need to get them. I do not like transporting my gear without a cover or case.

I got a pair for my 1210 and 1212 the other day (and a Tee shirt for my Girl :smug: )... They are really nice with a screened logo and all.

Jorg is swamped with stuff... I'm waiting on a whole mess of pictures and specs to bring the site up to speed. :bassist:

it's been mentioned in the thread already. It's a "True Voice" preamp from www.lowenddistribution.com and a "Focus SA" from http://www.acousticimg.com/products/prod_focussa.html

that little amp is a tube fronted 600watt rig @ under 8lbs combined

to think I lug my 100lbs 400watt tube head around :bassist:

hehe, same here, i got a Trace Elliot 400W tube head. its not getting carried around much though because im not a regular gigger, but perhaps its the heavies bedroom amp EVER :D

sorry i didnt read the info about the amp, i made it to page 29 then called it a day :hyper: thanks for the links anyway.

no problem.... do you have a V6 or V8? or something else? My Tube head is the same size as the V8 but I'm told Trace squeezes more juice out of the tubes.

VA400.... it has a tube power section, and a solidstate pre... i suppose you could say its a hybrid amp :D

still you can run the pre with tubes, just without equalizer...

it has the GP12, and you can run it parallel with some 12AX7 or whatever.

will there be european stores selling the schroeders? id love to try one :) i live in the netherlands, we have two bass specialists stores here, maybe one of them wouldnt mind carrying the schroeders!

Hi Jon
Have you tried the 12+ with one of the small Bergs. If not, would you be willing to try that combo? TIA.
Big

I'll try that setup next gig, which should be sometime next week, Mr Big. It will be a fun test, and about the only combination I haven't tried (except the NV215 & Schroeders...)

I just got home from playing a party out here in the jungles of East Maui, which required some serious mud-climbing 4wd trucking up a deeply rutted dirt road above Kipahulu in pouring rain. I had to use the old trusty Bag End stack that lives at the ranch, and it sounded pretty good (lacking real low lows, though) and a good time was had by all.

Country dance parties in the boonies are the best!

Aloha,

Jonathan

Very cool. I would like a shirt as well. I guess if they were on the site, I would have purchased one. I am looking forward to the changes on the site!

I have the same amp. Just picked it up. In all honesty, it runs circles around the V6 I had. I really liked the V6, but thought it did not react well to active basses. Also, I could not get a good slap tone from the V6. The VA400 has it all, especially with the 12 band preamp. The mid cut switch is a tone monster, especially for slap.

Looks pretty cool on stage as well. Just replaced the tubes with (6) Sovtek KT88s and (3) JJ Electronic preamps.

You need to get that amp out of the bedroom and into the clubs.
