Mine fit like a glove and don't slide up when moving like most covers do. Since the covers are avaliable now I think it's well worth the extra cost to protect these cabinets. There so nice I might get some covers made to cover my new Schroeder covers. :D

You guys are killing me! I love my EA CXL112s but the thought of being able to drop 850w each into a couple of 1210s (or a 1210 and a 1212 set!) is literally waking me up at night. I almost feel dirty, like I'm cheating on my EAs.
Enough already with the photos and gig stories and the "they're so amazing" or "I can't believe how great they sound" comments!
By the way I'm just kidding about the last part. Keep the comments, photos and stories coming.

Since my current cab has left me a little wanting the last couple of gigs and I just got a great tax refund :hyper: , I'm ready to try one of these.

So let's try this first:
Do any of you current Schroeder owners have a 1010, 1210, or 1212 for sale because you've decided to move up to a bigger Schroeder?

None for sale! I started with the Mini 12, played it for 1 gig, the next day called Jorg and ordered the 1212. I play gigs from 200 to 2000. I cannot wait to here the total sound a full Schroeder rig can give me. I am currently selling my SWR Goliath, when that happens, I will move up to a lagrer Schroeder simply for the fact then I will be able to play anything anywhere anytime.

I bought mine Direct from Jorg. There is something the fact that he answers his own phone. It makes it much more personal. I like that. Also, the room I played was only a MAX of 120. The Mini 12 filled the room without being over the top and it kept up with my 3 guitar players and their Fender Twins. It was plenty loud and tight. The thing that I did not do, however, is re-EQ anything on my rig. I played it as if it were my Full SWR Stack. It took every tone and note I played and sounded great. I could not say enough about this cabinet, but hearing is over the top.

Did you order the 1212 because the Mini12 wasn't cutting it for you, or are you keeping both cabs? I have heard the 1210, 1212, 21012 and 410, but I am curious to hear how the Mini12 sounds. Any insight on how it compared to the 1212?

Tom, did you have a chance to A/B either of those with a real big box, like a 6x10 or 8x10? I have a 6x10 right now and I'm wondering if I could replace it with a Schroeder 21012. I'm hoping to be able to hear one at the Atlanta Bass Gallery next week, if he has one in stock. Anyone else have an informed opinion about whether the 21012 could stand up to a 6x10? My only concern on the 21012 is its height, or lack thereof.

i think the 212012 is pretty much equivelent with a 610. an 810? no.

then again an 810 has about a 150lb (dis)advantage.

Nope. Those were the only cabs in Pete's shop. What 6x10 are you talking about? My guess is that the 21012 could stand up to or surpass most of the 6x10's I have heard.

How'z it goin'... this is Old Man from the Lakland board days!! Anyhow...I don't understand why the height of the cabinet is that important...Is it because you can't hear yourself unless it's a tall cab? The Schroeders are already getting the reputation for not only the audience but the player and band members to be able to hear the bass better than most anything else out there. If you have a 6x10 or 8x10 cab that has scooped mids as they typically do (other maybe than Epifani and a couple of others), I think you'll hear a Schroeder 21012 as well if not better not only on stage, but off too.

My current rig or 2 2x8 LDS's stack up to a mere 28 inches. I can hear the cabinet anywhere I stand. I tend to prefer not having the bass in my face so to speak...I don't want to wreck my eardrums and hearing every time I pop a string. That's just me. The other "thing" is that a 21012 Schroeder only weighs 75 pounds. Again, some people that have the luxury of designated shleppers (roadies) don't care. The rest of us do care. A cabinet that can possibly replace a 125 pound or more 6 or 810 thats very reasonably priced and more portable is to me a no brainer even if I have to learn to adjust to looking down by my knees at it. I think the Schroeder 21012 is around 26 or 28 inches tall? It's on their site.

I ordered a Schroeder 1210 that I hope will replace my beloved 208's. It's all of what...16 inches tall. If I can't hear it from down by my ankles, I'm not gonna put it on a chair...I'll return it first!!!

Yeah, that was my concern.. my 6x10, being tall, is closer to ear level. I hate having to put a cabinet on top of a milk crate or chair, 'cause it takes away a lot of the low end you get from stage coupling. My 6x10 is a SWR Goliath Sr., and it sounds pretty good -- I'm using a Sansamp RBI and a Stewart World 1.6.
The Schroeder 21012 is actually rated for 200 more watts than my 6x10, and weighs 40 pounds less. If it can really sound as big and ballsy as the 6x10, I'd say it's a no-brainer!

Just out of curiosity (and sorry if this has been asked already, but I don't want to read all 60 pages to check =P) what are the two things ontop of this amp? The top one has a tube so I'm guessing it's some kind of preamp?

You are correct. Somewhere in this thread, Jorg mentioned that he liked the combo so much that he now uses that setup himself.


I hooked up my 1210 to my backup rig (Nady850 and Fishman Pro Bass II--not ideal, but it'll work in my practice room until I get my Mesa back), and I liked what I have heard so far. :hyper:

It's amazing--even though it's heavier than the Aggie 1x12 it replaces, the handle placement actually makes it easier to carry.

To add to my initial review, as I've had a few other practice sessions with the 3101212.

One thing I've noticed, is the tweet is very noisy. I have it barely open and it produces a noticable hiss without signal, at a similiar (actually less) volume where my other cabs sat, which had two tweeters, both half open, and made not a peep. Granted live, this isn't a big deal.

Again, the midbass bump, I've had to adjust my eq'ing a bit to compensate so my lows don't kill everyone, and it's got plenty.

Volume is capable of drowning everyone out, and make the drummer want to mic his kit. Although I've never practiced this, just in messing with it alone. And this is only a plx1602 bridged. At practice volume with the loud drummer, and a good mix in the room, I'm barely hitting two bars on it's ouput.

It's more than capable of replacing most if not all full stacks as far as volume, and most as far as tone.

It's taken some time to retweak my sound to match the new cab, as it is way differently colored than the bxt's, but I'm certainly not unhappy with the sound. And even though it's still sort of a beast, it's way better than lugging both the heavy cabs I was before, and it's still lighter than my 410. I have yet to gig with it, since we have been rehearsing for heading to the studio this weekend, and no I won't be recording with it.

I've had my bxt's for sale for awhile, and they still are, so that should say something. The only thing I'll miss is the really clean tweets (having two probably is what made it work).
