Don't usually hang around outside the pedal forums - occasionally basses and amps - but I'll chime in. Mine are all a few years old. I've actually gone back to design school since and would likely do them differently now, but haven't had a need to make any recently.

Here's one from my old band I did in Illustrator. Nothing too crazy, but I was proud of the logo I came up with

Very similar to Adobe PS. It can go pretty deep; my best advice for newbies is to just play around a lot and you'll learn the tools.

i appreciate the criticism, this is all new to me. so far just playing around with templates. oddly enough that was the first one i did! what is it that makes that better or makes the others worse? general layout? colors? fonts? lack of info on the others? appreciate any help i can get!

The third one (the yellow one) is a little bland.
The second one; I personally think using an actual photo makes flyers look very amateur.
The first one is stylish, original and gets it's point across.

cool, it's nice to get some outside perspective. especially from someone who has nothing to gain or lose. sometimes i can't see the forest because of all the trees! i fear being too busy sometimes, but i guess that isn't a problem i should worry about!

using the templates is sometimes limiting with that website, but it gives an idea of a starting point. getting some great inspiration here from you guys! keep em' coming!

slowly starting to get better at this. still using templates, but this one feels a little more cohesive. a little busier than what i normally do, still a work in progress. i don't have all the info on the gig yet, as it is in august. thoughts?

Here is our 2014 flyer design. We mail these out to the churches or venues we are booked at, and let they fill in the blanks as they want.
