I live her in Kennett, Sheryl's home town, and a few years ago Sheryl & her mother were shopping a local store. I didn't recognize her until my wife pointed her out. As we passed the only thing I get out of my mouth was "Great to meet another bass player". Her dad is a retired attorney & plays guitar

I saw her live in Reno about 20 years ago. I didn't think much of her at the time but after the show I grew to like her music much more. It was a good show.

Does she do the whole show on bass normally, or do they chop and change? I would have guessed that as the star she would want a bit more freedom from time to time?

No easy feat singing and playing bass. Your awareness of the one and singing/playing on that time is what gives you a different feel for the music.

They did! I have one, an early one, probably 1971. I've seen other stock unlined fretless Guild basses from around the same time (JS-II comes to mind) but have never seen another M-85

Never saw a whole show, and to be honest I'm not a huge fan, but my guess is she switches around and just does what she wants on whatever particular song.

I was in the know as well. As another female bassist I always try to keep up with what the ladies are doing on bass.
Yep that’s her trusty vintage guild. There was a recent cover of bassplayer magazine with details on her favorite bass. She also has a vintage P for recording .
She just lays down a solid foundation. No fancy chops or licks. But she gets the job done . Said she now writes on bass and prefers it to guitar .

I saw her live a few months ago and she brought it out for a few tunes. She’s a total badass.
