Show me your compact pedalboard setup

Don't know what happened to my pic, but…

Interested to know more about how you use the Acoustic Preamp. Is that to enhance an ABG ? Or fake an upright ? Or .... ?

I have used a Boss AC-2 Acoustic Simulator with my piezo fretless StingRay with flatwounds and mutes to get a more upright-like woody tone. Around this time last year, I built my tc electronic pedalboard and used the BodyRez, but it doesn't quite work the same way as the Boss Acoustic Simulators, it's more like the AD-2 Acoustic Preamp.

The AD-2 and the Body Rez are good at subtly adding a bit of body to the piezo pickups of an acoustic/electric guitar, but for my purposes, I don't think they work as well as the AC-2 or AC-3. I will have a more final answer later this week, because I have an AC-3 coming in, as well. Somehow, I suspect the AC-3 is going to be the winner, for me.

I'd be interested to hear more once you get the AC-3. I used to have an AC-2, which I found marginally useful on one piezo/chambered bass, but I never got to try it on my Rob Allen Deep 5 (also piezo/chambered).

Signal path:

Pedaltrain with
One Control Junction box >
Either input of Korg pitchblack plus AB Box/Tuner >
Boss PH-2 Phase (for melodic fun in my original band) >
MXR Bass Distortion (for grind in my punk covers band) >
Tech 21 VT Bass (always on preamp, adds some Geddy-like grit and compression) >
Radial Stagebug Passive DI box, (thru to amp, DI to house via semi-permanently attached cable, so soundmen don't destroy the XLR pins by plugging their cables a$$backwards in the dark)

Amp: TC BH250 or BG250, with a little bit of the spectracomp toneprint running, depending on acoustics of the room.

Powered by Pedaltrain Volto underneath.

I have a conundrum for the TB community to solve - since I've gone back and forth with this quite a bit.

I play in a Chili Peppers tribute and we fly to most of our shows, so a compact board is a must. I'm on the fence about bringing what I consider expensive pedals in checked baggage...fearing loss, theft or damage - instead choosing a less expensive, possibly less good sounding board with me on travel dates.

Here's what I'd like to bring:

Here's what I think I would be okay losing on the road:

B1On would be in the LS-2 loop and cover all OD/DIST/FUZZ/ENVELOPE, and the MS-60b is my always-on limiter, high-pass filter and noise gate.

Love to hear your thoughts on travel dates.

PS - If Zoom made a B3 with an expression pedal or a B3N with expression - or the Tech21 Bass Fly Rig didn't have some issues - or a Fractal FX-8 wasn't completely overkill...I would absolutely prefer a multi solution.

Seriously, get a board big enough for your MS60b a B3n w/an expression pedal and there’s no tone you couldn’t get!
