Yeah, i've been checking there too. I've only seen the MB-2s there, usually for a pretty hefty price.
Just arrived - crappy cell phone pics. Fast neck, low action. 34" scale. Rehearsal tonight, 3 gigs this weekend.

The neck has a bit less meat - it reminds me of a Fodera neck actually. The bridge is shaved down a bit from normal, and right now the fingerboard is dead flat. I actually loosened the truss rod as it felt like it was quite speak as evenly. It'll take some time for everything to settle in. But the koa top already has a gorgeous aged look that will end up looking like it glows. I still like my old 4-string walnut top, but I'm back on 5-er and having this in 34" is perfect.
I restrung my Mouse 30. The strings are definitely a lot brighter. I really liked it when I got it initially. I suppose I should play it more and break in the strings.
A long time ago, I was in the hunt for a guitar+bass gig bag so the Mouse 30 could be in a double bag. I recently picked up a headless bass with Hipshot hardware and it fits nicely in a guitar bag, allowing me to throw that and the Mouse 30 in a double guitar gig bag.

A little bit of everything. My previous Deeps got used for jazz hits mostly but I also used them on funk/soul stuff as well. I tried it last night with my original project but it wasn't really happening as that is a dense mix and the studio backline was crap. With eq you can dial down some of the bloom and dial up some bite and push it into different styles of music pretty easily.

I received some copper whites from Rob before Christmas, and just put them on my MB2. The bass was new to me last year, but I think the current strings--which sounded fine, I should note--have been on it for a while. Possibly since 2006. I had also purchased a set of regular tape wounds just to have a correctly sized backup set (it's a 32" scale), and the whites were an impulse buy... and I had a down week, and was curious...
I've only played on them for about 30 minutes, but my initial reaction is that the feel and tension are the same/similar.
But the tone is great! That's subjective, of course.
But objective details: I'm running through a GB Shuttle 6.2 and a PJB Compact4 cab. I've had the HF Attack set to ON on the shuttle, plus a mid boost at about 300Hz, PLUS the Low dialed back 1/4 and the High dialed up 1/4. I use the rig for home practice and most recently on-stage monitoring at my jazz theater gig.
After putting on the copper whites--to get back to similar sound levels--I turned off the HPF, and set the Low and High both to unity, and I'm cutting the Mids just slightly. But the sound is still very well balanced, and clearly the strings are significantly brighter (but not the way rounds would be). And I love it. I'm going to see how these hold up, but they bite just a wee bit, and enable more HF options, should I want them, without losing Lows.

I've got white copper nylons on my Kinal, which is very similar to an RA, absolutely love them.
As a point of reference, last night I played it on about a half dozen tunes with a Steely Dan tribute band. I swapped over to the fretted Smith when Black Cow came up on the setlist
Just got my Deep 4 back from Mouradian. After I snapped the A string (.100 I might add lol) while digging in back in January, I figured it needed a setup plus I had to have them fix the volume knob which was scratchy. I dropped it off a few weeks ago. Instead of the Rotosound RS88 set, I am trying the Galli G77 set instead. They are also black nylon tapewounds. In the few minutes I've had to play it, they feel very different. The G string I'll have to adjust to since I'm used to a .65 and this is a .55 (everything else is the same). I'll know more after Monday and Tuesday when I play it with two different big bands. After nearly 25 years of playing the RS88s (and briefly trying the LaBella nylon tapewounds which I hated), this will be interesting. I don't hate these out of the box like I did the LaBella, so that's a good sign.
As an aside, turns out I had a near dead battery which was also causing some of my issues but not a 100% cause.

Anybody have a fretted mouse they want to sell? I posted in WTB, but thought i'd put it out here too.
Gig last night - good example of what the D5 sounds like on a jazz hit. First time with this guitar player on this type of gig and he doesn't solo a lot so I filled the gap. Listen at your peril (it's a playlist of both sets), but it is a good indication of the tone. Running into a Glockenklang Blue Rock into Audio Kinesis H1203 cab. No DI feed - recorder is at the edge of the "stage".

It's funny what a set of strings can do. I've had the D4 back for about a week with the Galli G77 set on there. They bring a very different sound and feel than the Rotosound RS88s. They are the same gauge (sans the G string) as the Rotos, but definitely lower tension. I'm not sure I like that - I'll see. That aside, it's making me take a different approach to playing. Depending on whether I am using the piezo or the mag, they also have very different sounds. The RS88 set was more same than different; these are almost like night and day. I haven't done a direct A-B on the mag side vs. my fretless P, but the sound is much closer now between the two. I used the D4 in two different big band rehearsals and a small band one. The Gallis may give the D4 a bit more of an upright vibe with the piezo vs. the 88s.
We'll see if they stay. If nothing else, they are certainly an interesting departure from my normal. I do wish they were slightly higher tension. I'll give it another month or two before I think about making any kind of change.
