yeah... No I'm not saying that a 1x15 and 4x10 rig is overkill, but when people use 2 of those then it starts making me think if its really nesecary... lol... who needs that amount of volume when there should be a PA around for that type of gig? For a gig like that you're rig should be just for stage volume and tone, but then again, I'm not saying it's useless. If I had the money I'd have a couple 'rigs'Originally posted by NV43345
I dont try and kill it, I use the small amp for what it is intended, see my other post for more juice. If that dont work for you try this.no problem with the "B".LOL.

With this Yamaha Attitude Limited, I can mix the sound right on the bass, and put a little overdrive and compression on one side.Playing in stereo is awesome.

Sadly, I don't have a very good picture of my rig, ATM.
My rig may not stay with me too long. I think it's on the verge of getting replaced by a BAM 210 combo for 3 reasons. Better sound (IMO), more versatility and more portable. My 410TXF weighs 95lbs alone and my firebass weighs 50lbs.
Good setup but doesn't quite do it for me, then again, I have very odd taste in sound. I like bright without being too attacky with a good high mid nasal sound to it, that's not too overbearing.
Seemingly, I've been able to do this with my Sterling and a BAM being strung with Prisms.
Anyway, enough useless comments.
Here's a pic from a community day my band did about a week or so ago.

yeah, well I mean this is exactly why hartke made the 7000 head, those are practically like the 3500 only difference is you can biamp. The 3500 is less expensive, so hellOriginally posted by BillyB_from_LZ
Bassist31588...
To biamp you need a preamp, an electronic crossover and two mono power amps, one for the lows and one for the highs.
With bass heads, you can often take the signal from the fx send, send it to the crossover and then return either the highs or lows to your bass amp and send the other frequency band to another power amp.
I looked at the manual for your Hartke head and found out that the fx loop is before the EQ...this means that you could follow the signal path that I mentioned except you wouldn't be able to EQ either your highs or lows... Hartke didn't do you any favors...
What you could do is take the signal from your DI (which can be post eq) and send that to a crossover but the signal hitting the Hartke's power amp would be full range as there are no access points to the signal path after the fx return.
Your other choice if you wanted to use 8s for high end is to use a passive crossover between the Hartke and the Avatar/2x8 cabinets. There are lots of them available at www.partsexpress.com or you could design and build your own.
Have fun!!!!
