I think you can get by better with a 4x10... Punchy, enough low end for a four string... save up more and you wont have to worry about adding a second cab... However the 210 + 115 would have excellent punch and lows and it would kickass. Look into a GK400RBIII head, I love em'... sweet clean tone... The 3500 aint bad either, it gets you heard, and that's practically all Im looking for right now, plus its got decent tone for now... Maybe one of those Sansamp things in front of it, but I doubt Id 'need' it... It'd be cool though.

thanks for the suggestion,but I think Ima go my way...a 4x10 is way to heavy for me(only 14,and a weak little fat kid:hmm: ) and also...there is not really large gigs around here...the 2x10 should suit me well for now...and it should punch/cut through nicely...

and the amp I might get is very punchy an clean as well...


Man,what am I talking about? I dun even have a band:rolleyes:

hah, lotsa self esteem there man. I'm 15 myself and Im looking for something that will handle what I do. Im playing mostly jazz and Im usually plugging an upright into the amp, if not, its a 5 string. I'm looking into setups that will be powerful and help me out when I get more rock-type situations. So far everyone thinks that I think Im too good for them because I am, and thats not it, Id be happy to play for some people in my school. I have no rock band, but not all 410's are that much harder to lug around than some combos... Peavey TNT's and TKO combo 115's are beasts... but yeah, a 210 would propbably be ideal for you then. When you get in a band you may be able to cut through with that, but id suggest a 15 or another 210

haha...yeah,I need some esteem,yeah:hmm:

But...around here,there isnt huge gigs...like,my one friend is in a band around here and he uses a ampeg b115 combo(100w),and gets through fine...

but,thanks for the suggestion.

and I do agree,for your style and your situation,a 115 would fit you best

Now that the third VL-208 and second VL-210 came in, I will probably have an updated pic after our next gig. Still, the EA and Epifani cabs stacked surprisingly well!

Hartke 3500 pushing 240 watts into an 8 ohm Avatar CB115... sweet stuff... the bass is a shecter stilleto elite 5 string and in the background is a Carlo Robelli jazz guitar and a Fender MIM jazz on the wall. I've also got a 120 watt hartke combo which the new Avatar rig blows away

I got it for very very cheap, about 50$ USD a deal à la Brad.

And I love it, I like it better then the Eden and Ampeg pre that I tried.

I know Brad Johnson love his also.

They are great and cheap, when you can find them.

Tom...I recently bought one (for even less :))and it is nice. Very SWR like I suppose (as Steve Rabe designed it). Supposedly it sounds different than the similar looking, and probably more common, amplifiers (that Russ Allee designed).

I haven't messed around with the EQ much....just a slight bass and treble boost. When I push in the Enhance button, I end up turning the "Tone" knob down as it get's too bright for my taste (and I use cabinets with tweeters).

The one thing that I don't like is that it takes up a rack space and a half...what a pain!!!

I think I may get an Avatar 410 with my CB115 someday... I don't think I'd get the CB112 unless im short on money like I was here... Another Avatar cab DEFINETLY though, they're great stuff! May replace the hartke head, but got it so I could turn up... The tone is good but people seem to hate hartke... My next major purchases will be a 6 string bass, an Upright, maybe another cab if I ever feel the CB isnt cutting it, but it's good **** for now, doubt Ill be landing any metal gigs that require more volume that I have anyways;)... Then Ill buy myself a new head which will probably be a nice one like an Eden or something, then a high end cab or two just for the sake of owning one:D All within the next 10 years though, I cant afford that in 1 or 2:spit:

nice schecter! (i have the same one) did you have trouble intonating yours? mine was a b*tch.the saddle fell off while changing a string, and freaked me out then i took it all aprart and fine tuned everything.

how much did you pay? i got mine for 500 even from guitar center.

thanks, I haven't had to intonate the bass yet. It was set up pretty nicely but Im sure an intonation job wouldnt hurt sometime soon. Bought it back in September for $615 with a gigbag... yeah, I think it's annoying with the truss rod cover, gotta unscrew that to get to the truss. The bridge is a little wierd but its cool. You have to loosen strings before adjusting intonation so you could move the saddle... but its fine by me, because I dont adjust the thing every day, maybe once or twice every 2 months. Basically Ill just tweak things when I change my strings. Stick some Fodera's on there man, they really make the bass really nice... I used to string it with a high C and it had excellent upper registers when tuned like that, and it's excellent for slap... but i've got a low B on it now which is why im talking about getting a 6 string bass as my next major purchase. I can't live without the low B, but damn a high C is great to have. I like the bass... It seems like I paid the highest amount for this bass... Everyone's getting their stilleto elite 5's for like 400-500 bucks. Need to work on my negotiating skills;)... Anyways, its a nice bass and for $600 its still a killer bass.
