I never posted my Omni 10 stack here. Both loaded with Eminence Deltalite 2510's. Clear, clean, punchy, loud and light. Ashdown preamp, Crown XTI-1000 power. '69 P bass.

The only thing I woulda done different if I were starting over would be to build the Omni 10 as two Omni 10.5s. It would looked cool to have 3 (or 4) of them stacked and been an even easier carry.

I did not get the T/S. I was given four of these drivers from a sound company I work with (one had a rubbing coil). The guy had no luck getting the T/S nor would Hartke sell replacements. He ended up putting in BP102's in the cab and it seems to work fine.

All of my cabs ending up selling all at once and I was left without anything to play through. I was going to just do a standard ported 2x10 for simplicity's sake, but after looking a the Jack, it was nearly as easy and looked to be fun. I haven't been able to really sit down with it and focus in on how it sounds, but it's my favorite of the BF cabs thus far.

As far as how the Hartke's work in there, I would venture to say that they are lacking a decent amount of the lower spectrum that the Eminence's would have, but the Hartke are a very bright woofer; which I think works in my favor with this particular enclosure. Very clean sound!

Definitely go for it. It it's a really smooth build. If you have decent woodworking skills and study the plans ahead of time, it should be a snap. I think it only took me and a friend about 4 hours of actual working time from start to finish.

Oh, and mine is finished with Duratex HB.

I have been following this and the fEarful thread with great interest. I don't want to start any fights, but is there anyone that might have experience with both of these cabinets? I want to build something, just not sure which one. I play mostly old school R&B, Blues and classic rock. I like a more deep and mellow sound, don't so much like the bright, high mid trebley sound that some hi fi type cabinets seem to produce. I would also like to be able to improve the volume and tone on the D & G strings, especially higher up the fret board. Now, these notes seem to get lost. My main bass is a Sadowsky UV70 4 banger and I also have several Fender Jazz basses, all passive other than the Sad.

I have a MarkBass LMT 800 and am currently running it through 1 or 2 Berg AE210's, depending on the gig. I like this set up, but would still like to experement with building some cabinets. Small and light rule, I am thinking about 2 Jack12's.

Any comments or ideas would be appreciated! I am also going to post this on the fEarful thread.

Do you intend to build yourself? If so, the fEARFUL would be an easier build woodworking wise, but would require more work on the crossover side.

Woodworking wise, the Jack 12 is a little harder to build, but still is effectively just a box... and if you used the piezo tweeter option, no crossover required, just some optional filter components to clean up the sound a bit.

A Jack 12 would make more noise than a fEARFUL with the same wattage input as it is a bit more efficient, both with its partially horn-loaded woofer/midrange driver and its melded piezo acting as a line array.

If you check the YouTube videos I referenced in my previous post, you can hear the Omni 10 (replaced by the Jack) powered by a Markbass amp.

Thanks for the links - I listened to them multiple times. I wish there was a conventional commercial cabinet there of known quantity with which to compare.

Of course, the clarity is stunning in these clips, but then you're using a Status bass - incredible clarity - powered by a MB head - incredible clarity again. But I definitely liked the sound of the 15" tallboy best in the clips.

Dual omni 10.5's with Avatar's OEM 2510 neo's, custom blond duratex.
Extremely lightweight, very "articulate", and take EQ like a cab should. They get along with my Gibson head like pea's in a pod.

I really like the looks of the blond duratex and, also, the white that Zac used on his fibreglass cabs. I'm wondering how resistant the light colours will be to scuffs and such. Just wipe 'em down with a wet cloth?
