Here's my Omni15 tallboy without tweeter. Eminence 3015LF. Shown next to an Eden D112XLT.

In the rear-view photo, ignore the dull stuff around the handle. That's black caulking that was later touched up. There are 3" recessed casters at the bottom rear, making it easy to tilt back to move the cab.

I have a DR280, 99% finished which will be sitting on a T39. A little excessive but none the less.

I have a DR280 and also a T39 with passive crossover and 2 BP102's, as one of my many rig combinations. Excessive would be an apt word.

Wow, I can't believe I never posted in this thread.
I love my Omni10. Very, very gigworthy cab - sounds great, easy to carry.

But anyway, Bill Fitzmaurice Jack 210 (Hartke drivers) and you can even see a Tuba36 in the background.

Did you get the T/S specs on the Hartke drivers to determine if they were a good fit for that cabinet, or did you just try it and then like it?

Ah! Concerning the O15 Tall Boy and the tweeter/no tweeter option, is there a way to have the best of both worlds? I thought I read that for most bassists, the tweeter is not needed since the midrange w/o upper crossover reaches high enough. For some bassists and other uses (keyboards, PA) the tweeter is a plus.

Can one set up the crossover so that with one setting, the mid is "unleashed" on the upper end with tweeter turned off and with another proper three way setting with L-pads the upper two? I "understand" that an L-pad could adjust the individual output levels for the mid and tweeter, but that wouldn't remove the upper crossover point for the mid.

I am a "cake and eat it too" kind of guy sometimes...

Possible, yes, but far more complicated than would be justified by the result, especially when you can get exactly what you desire for frequency response with a decent EQ.

I wouldn't call theoretical objections by a guy who had never heard them, and who, when asked to put up or shut up, unceremoniously disappeared from the thread two years ago, whooping anyone's butt.
But I do offer this advise to those who, like he and yourself, find my designs not to their liking: Don't build one. Then we'll all be happy.
