So, I want to run an idea by the brain trust here.
Personally I love play-wear on a bass, and personally I prefer real wear to an artist's relic work. I'm 46 and I've got my Destination P-bass on order, a Lakland 44-64. I won't buy another bass for a decade or more. I asked for a custom finish, and they said "we've never ever done that, but sure why not."
It's Sonic Blue (no more coats than necessary) over Candy Apple Red,
with no clear coat. I want the chance to play the ever-loving heck out of it and see some real wear before I'm too old to rock out.
Will this work, friends? It's a poly paint, not nitro. I love the thought of playing it 'til I can see it "bleed."
