I got one of those atrocious Sunset Orange Hot Rodded Precision Bass things when FMIC cut them loose.

A million pictures of them have been posted, so just close your eyes for five seconds and imagine your favorite one here.

OK, you back? See? We saved bandwidth.

Yeah, worst case of V/V/T Syndrome in the galaxy, screwy pickups, etc. Nice ash two-piece body. Shame it's a TRANS ORANGE P/J!

I had one (with a Maple fingerboard) and thought it was quite pretty. Replaced the P with a DiMarzio Will Power Middle and enjoyed it quite a bit.

Come to think of it, I actually had two. I bought an Orange/Rosewood board at a GC List sale (back when there were awesome deals to be had), I think I paid something like $400 for a brand new MIA Hot Rodded P bass. I bought it for resale and prices weren't high enough to justify the effort, so i returned it.

Yeah, no kidding. About a year and a half ago, I saw one in mint shape at GC for $499. Took a long time to move, too.

Not much appreciation for about ten years of investment, assuming you didn't get yours for the same $499 everyone else in the country paid for them during that sale, in which case it would have been a dead loss. :hmm:
